More clues from Twitter, this time from Will Horton (@winglets747):

@VirginAustralia promises something good 4 gold elite frequent flyers on Thursday, same day Qantas will unveil a new freq flyer partnership

Platinum Lounge at SYD~!!! (one can hope)

Well they have said they are reopening the upstairs area and making a "two level lounge"

On Twitter, so I'd guess a sale of some sort.

Exactly what I was thinking, but I find ignoring logical explanations is more fun ;)

Is QF going to make some sort of announcement tomorrow? I thought I read it somewhere? Perhaps VA/DJ will trump them!!

Virgin is 11 today btw.

Qantas is due to announce plt1 at some stage soon, perhaps they think it's tomorrow and we.should wait for their response? Perhaps they are giving away a plane? Lol. Conspiracies here we go.

Let's see, Velocity has had such major rework lately........but what do we lack? Lounges. What about an announcement for the other two promised regional lounges?

So true, probably the most important things VA need to do now are:
  1. More lounges with plenty of space, including an international "clubhouse" at SYD
  2. Complete the refit of the fleet with new product (J&Y) + New IFE
  3. Providing food and beverage as part of the ticket like V Australia
  4. Assuring seamless connections between partner airlines
What else?

Note to self, don't assign anything to Thursdays that needs full attention at work! Looks like head to head announcements, and I suspect the partnership guesses are on the money, damn, just went to Coles.

Well I guess it's a good think I've got tomorrow off!
