"He's a money crabber"

In context I think this was intended in a pejorative manner. But I struggle to understand how someone who makes money from crabbing would be upset.

Perhaps he moves it sideways?

Thought of this gem this morning. Is it correct or not correct?

"I literally just butchered the english language."

Deep! apart from no capital "E" for the name of the language, there are a couple of metaphors in there.

I have bought a new microwave and here is the first gem from the instructions.* I am sure there are going to be more.

"Preferences for food doneness varies with each individual."

*For those who may be unaware, most appliances come with a book that tells you how to use it. This book is called "The Instructions".

In 3 languages, Greek, Farsi & Hebrew.
Then translated into "ENGRISH".

Preferences vary? doneness?? you wouldn't want overcookedness or undercookedness would you?

Unless they were referring to, say, beef, but who in their right mind cooks beef in the microwave? (Defrosting, yes, reheating, yes, stewing, maybe... a slab right from scratch in the microwave? How about no...)

Eggs also come to mind, e.g. poached / baked eggs and hardness of the yolk.

A real food crime to freeze meat and then defrost it. The meat dries out. I buy meat as I need it.

On ABC radio last night one of the reporters spoke of someone being a talismatic figure
Perhaps a little tautology but seems a fair comment when referring to, say, a sportsperson or mega-investor etc I'd suggest. One can have lots of talismanic 'things'.

Maybe be they were referring to the 'evil' preference whisperer who the Libs and Greens are frothing about in the Senate.:) He seems to have worked magic according to some.

The majority of the meat I buy is first frozen then thawed in the fridge during the day then cooked in the evening. I don't notice much difference although I do have to say the ~2 year frozen steak/pork chops towards the end of last year were not crash hot.
