I’m currently sitting on a KLM flight waiting to depart BLQ. We boarded on time and are ready to go but the pilots have been told to wait 35 minutes due to airspace congestion.

These kinds of delays happen. What really impressed me was that the captain came out from the coughpit to personally address passengers over the PA with very clear information about the reason for the delay, what the crew plans to do to minimise the delay and when they will have information about connecting flights.

Top marks for communication. I cannot fault the crew at all - there’s not much more they can do than that.

I had one from AA last month. We were missing a captain at DFW, he hustles over introduces himself with a speech that was light hearted. "Once I get in there and get briefed we'll be on our way to... Where are we going? DC? Cool" also finished with: "I used to be a topgun , the one you see in the movies so you know you're in good hands.".

Throughout the whole delay the CSM also informed everyone about the situation and that a captain has now been found, hes heading over from terminal C now and other information.

Incidentally also top notch crew service ln that AA flight which is relatively rare.
