Happy 50th birthday to Dollar Bill

I was in another continent at the time.

I miss the old $1 and $2 notes. Much better than the current coins.

I ran out of cash in my wallet about a week ago and still haven't needed any. Shows how times have changed.

How about that story about the missing $100 notes? Some genius reckons they are being stockpiled by criminals. They said there were 300 million $100 notes - not sure if that's how many are missing or in circulation. That's a lot of brass - $30 billion? If it's missing from circulation then it would make a difference to the economy if it 'returned'.

Conversion to the dollar was during my parent's era. I've got a few one penny coins and the like in a jar somewhere.

I still remember $1 and $2 notes... though they disappeared while I was still at school.

Kids these days don't know what 1c and 2c coins look like. I guess the 5c coin will go some time soon too.
