Has anyone had success with the call-up "Marginal" xASA's?

There I was in Adelaide for a spare day so I phone up to do a P1 run with a DSC but I fell foul of a 3 hour rule of booking to ticketing. Getting out of Adelaide on a Sunday early was my only chance so I muffed it.

One way, yeah?

Yeap. Have to wait another couple of weeks for the return sector to open up. This booking is right on the date range.....bit of an impulse trip due to my number coming up in the Gallipoli ballot.

Just checking, if you are a P1, when did you get your DSC offer, and what were the periods of "validity"
I have been P1 for over 18 months and have not had a sniff of one yet.

Forgot to ask, is someone able to check line 85 on the "spreadsheet", the points cost quoted MUST be an error?

The original post says 100,000 rather than 10,000, which is possible if it wasn't booked as minimum points.

I have had 2 and a half DSC offers ever and I have a 5 digit QF member number. Mrscove had one in the 3 month radiology post op period. I refer to those 13 weeks as the Haigh chocolate bar trips on weekends extended by an early Friday session and a late Monday treatment. She made P1 and I missed due to work commitments and all on domestic flights.
I did buy Mrscove a J ticket to Sydney to try to prove to her I wasn't a nutcase (for her birthday) but she still thinks we could pay more often.

I just booked what I thought was a MASA, J DRW-BNE-SYD return, 72,000 points $550 odd dollars. Profile indicates it is Business (U)... Does this sound right?

Yes, JASAs book into U class, but so do classic awards. So the only way to be absolutely sure that you have what you want is to look at your activity statement and see that is says "Any Seat Award" against the booking reference.

Totally agree, the booking class itself is not an indication of it being an Any Seat Award.
There are a few examples here where the call staff have assured people the booking was an ASA and upon checking the FF statement the points have been deducted for a Classic Award.

To my knowledge, yes. Depends on what the notes to the booking say and then a cancellation and reissue is generally required IIRC

What does your Activity Statement say??

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

Month booked | Month travelled | Cabin | Route | Points cost | Co-pay* | Classic co-pay~ | Max points cost~ | SCs earned

22 Apr 14 | 25 Apr 14 (rtn 28 Apr 14) | X/O | MEL -BNE-MEL | 44811 | N/A | N/A | ~? | 60 |
22 Apr 14 | 25 Apr 14 (rtn 28 Apr 14) | J | MEL - BNE - MEL | 151000 | ? | ? | ? | 120 |

Apologies for not getting the formatting/classes right. The agent I was dealing with confused me no end and the info I was getting was all mixed up.
Can I clarify if there was supposed to be a 3,500 FF points booking fee or have I just been robbed?

Beefy

There should be NO 3,500 booking fee. You will have to ring them back and get it credited.

I didn't end up paying for the J - just dd the comparison - that was the quote she gave me for the J MASA. decided it was way too expensive a spend for 120SCs

Rang them back to get my phone booking fees refunded. Spoke to Adele in Hobart. Flatly refused to as she believed you can book these online. QUoted the RoQ 7740 and she still didn't believe them.

Also I am now confused as the first lady told me that I would be earning 60SCs and now Adele has said it is only 15 E/W. So it has now cost me 48,000 for 30SCs - total waste IMO.

Any help to solve this would be appreciated.

Remember when we were told ASAs are going because they cost QF too much money? Apparently the money it's costing QF is in training call centre staff - over and over and over . . .

It's just laughable.
