Has anyone had success with the call-up "Marginal" xASA's?

The previously special number allowed them to collate Data on numbers booking - now I suppose it doesn't matter as the deadline is set.

I have enough points for another 24K booking bit am going to wait until 25 June, sweep all points from family accounts and hopefully will have enough for more.

EpiQure I love you :D

Makes sense. Although they must have some interest in monitoring the last minute rush.

I am just waiting for my 2015 European trip window to open, and once the round trip booking is done will try to blow more of my points on some point-to-point trips in support.

Does anyone know if SYD-MEL-PER is still a valid routing for ASA?
It comes up via the Classic Award search at 72K rtn but I haven't booked one since last year.

This does not look promising:

Doing a dummy booking on Qantas.com shows options via MEL come in $450 more than direct, so that's that I guess.

If looking for SC's, have you considered CBR-xSYD-PER?

Thanks serfty. I will have a look at the CBR option.

Booked what will likely be my last JASA today. DFW-SYD-BNE in U for 2 pax. 192,000 points plus $1401. Still not ticketed. Got charged the booking fee, but rang to get that reversed. Agent who I spoke to regarding the booking fee waiver was sure these we're 'not possible', but could be booked on line. Anyway, think we got there in the end. He has to call the awards area tomorrow to refund the booking fee.

Is it worth booking a FASA for 2015 now to get in before the 30 June deadline, but say on 2 August I decide I need to change dates - so long as I find U/classic availability on another 2015 date, can I switch over and still earn SCs?

Broom out the cupboard here too...~1k away from my next award (48k)... How fitting for me to become a freshly minted WP in the same month / year as the demise of the MASA...

It seems there has been a fire sale in my Frequent Flyer account since  June last year

2 months ago I couldn't book SYD-MEL/ADL-PER as they all priced as 2 separate legs, so opted for CBR-ADL-PER instead.

Cheers, excellent option :)
I'll try to see if I can get CBR-MEL-PER rtn. (to get on the A330) with that as a back-up.
I'll have to "borrow" some points from Shrek first

there's certainly a run on points until June 30 PF ...

In approx 6 weeks I'll be sitting on a big fat 0 in my account

Without the 'slider' it's been quite hard to get the points to exactly 0. (Although, with the round number philosophy coming up maybe no to.)

Some years ago, I got down to exactly 60 ...

I've decided to accelerate my run to LTG. Aiming to get there inside 12-18 months. Looking at all the options, including Life Time OWE after that ;)

BA (35k TP/SCs) or AY (5 million AY tier points, which is similar to AA EQM)?
Any other programs that offer LT OWE?

Edit: you can exchange award points for tier points :o
Other services | Finnair
Kinda like exchanging QFF points for SCs without ASAs!

About this time last year I had 6 big fat zeroes in my account...with a 1 in front, though . A swag of JASAs later (all booked before the big enhancement), so now not so :). Looking forward to the SYD-JNB-SYD for the African aerial safari (Tanzania, Malawi, Botswana, Zambia) in June .

It will definitely be BA if I do it. Not aware of any others except AY.

BA sounds like the easiest, although MH J even intra-Asia seems to credit worse than QF. What would your BA strategy be?

Based on my current flying patterns (long haul J mainly) I will be pretty close to GGL (BA's P1 equivalent).
I also do a few transcons a year and may divert those from VA to make up the difference and get the 3000 TP.
Other than that I don't need to do much at all.

EDIT: Not much except I might have to move back home to my mum and dad's in Scotland :p
