Has anyone had success with the call-up "Marginal" xASA's?

Winning a spot in the Gallipoli ballot is expensive ;)
Lucky you! We booked our trip to Gallipoli in 2009 long before the ballot was dreamt up, but weren't as lucky.... Not fussed though, the Military History tour is doing some interesting things and are planning an alternate Dawn ceremony. If you are going to be in Istanbul on the 27th April, PM me - maybe we could meet up for a drink?

Based on my current flying patterns (long haul J mainly) I will be pretty close to GGL (BA's P1 equivalent).
I also do a few transcons a year and may divert those from VA to make up the difference and get the 3000 TP.
Other than that I don't need to do much at all.

EDIT: Not much except I might have to move back home to my mum and dad's in Scotland :p

3,000 TP a year will get you to BA LTG in no time! (~12 years will fly by) ;)
You may as well go for BA LT GGL (100,000 TPs)!

The 27th is looking good. I'll send you a PM......I'm looking for advice on selecting a good tour

See you on the ship Flying Mermaid we are booked on the same trip & unfortunately missed the ballot also but are happy with the alternate Dawn service. I have just booked my return flight for that trip using the last of our frequent flyer points. It's going to be a great trip I think :)

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

May 14 |Aug 14 | U | SYD-BNE-TSV-BNE-SYD | 48000 | $359.66 + $7 CC fee | 87675 | 160 SC

CSA originally said that these could no longer be done online and that recently they had been removed totally, but a reference to the ROQ Card helped that. <10 minutes all up. 40 SC's less than pre QFFF simplification.

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

You call yourself a frequent flyer samh004, wash your mouth out :o . Go and make the booking before 30 June for some future date (by which time yuor mojo will be back)

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

19th May 14 |7th May 15 | P | LHR- SYD | $2539.00 | 384,000 this was for 2 people. I think we will get 74 400 points & 840 status credits

Not really relevant if you have plenty of QF points to burn and/or if you are trying to attain/retain status, but you could book this exact itinerary using AA miles for 160k miles and US$860. And yes that's in F for two people. But will earn 0 points and 0 status credits lol. It's just a massive difference. In both miles/points and the cash component.

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

Thanks All... The points deduction certainly states "Any seat award", yet actually credited as a classic award. Will call to sort out.

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

So have the MASA/JASA gone?

I have rung twice and been told both times that the MASA's are no longe bookable in the system and that I now can only book classic award or points plus pay? I thought they ended in June/July?

Very frustrating if that is the case!

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

So have the MASA/JASA gone?

Certainly not. They are bookable until the end of June (don't remember exact date).

I booked one 10 days ago.., it took 20-30 minutes on phone and numerous referrals back to a Supervisor.

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

Yeah thought that was the case, ended up hunting through my emails for last 20 mins and found it, hahah so much info on these threads its hard to find the dates but yep found it!

Off to make another phone call! 3rd time lucky hopefully!

From 1 July 2014, we're removing the ability to make an Any Seat Award booking on Qantas flights using Classic Award booking classes[SUP]3[/SUP] ( X, Z, U or P). Existing bookings will not be affected by this change.

Re: Sucessful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

Sucess! With an awesome agent.

BNE-PER-KTA 27th December 36,000 Points and $284.00.

Very happy but sad as it'll be the last JASA!
