Has anyone had success with the call-up "Marginal" xASA's?

Thanks Red Roo. Another question if I may: can an existing JASA or FASA be changed (post June 30) to a later date subject to U or P availability?

Just booked:
MEL-BNE-MEL
JASA
44,000 classic award rate plus $300 taxes
or
78000 and $0
120 SC :)
and 6400 points back

Re: Successful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

Yes....I had some JASA's booking in Dec Jan and Feb and they were all around that price. the two quotes early this month for BNE SYD BNE were exactly the same at $382. I tried different operators and different flights/days. Operators checked my previous booking and were unable to explain the price difference......At that price I didn't bother making the bookings and have stopped trying, using classics instead in Y.

Fair enough, that's disappointing. On the other hand, if the SCs are not that important to you, then you have saved yourself $$$ (and points since you have gone with Y).

The SC's are important to me, but not at that price .... and I am not going to reward what I see as bad behaviour.

I see a FASA where I can burn the remaining points and I will most likely give up the chase for WP, save a few $$ and settle as SG.

Anyone has problem getting the MASAs ticketed? Mine hasn't ticketed since yesterday (was told it should take an hour). Happens last time I booked a MASA too few months ago :(

Yep, two of mine required further intervention last week.

Re: Successful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

I booked the exact same in March and it was $211.98 per pax according to the spreadsheet. Have you obtained quotes since then?

I've also changed the dates of that one twice since booking.
I have been quoted $430 co-payment on the BNE-SYD-BNE route which is double my previous trips.

Re: Successful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

The itineraries I've received for my latest bookings are interesting in that they state a separate "Ticket total" that is higher than the co-payment amount. Those with an interest in GST may have seen such figures elsewhere.

Have just booked my last ever MASA for June 2015.
This will ensure WP till late 2016.
LHR-MEL F (FASA) (QF10) 216,710 points plus $1009.25 taxes plus $30 cc fee (or 311,853 points and $0). 360 SC and 34,100 points back.

Very few F classic/MASA seats available at the moment for QF 1/2/9/10 !
I called at 9:59 am just prior to expected release. Had seat reserved for me by 10:01 but call took 25 min as I landed someone who had never booked a MASA previously. Usual storey ( "no you can't do that, you can only do it on line...I will check with supervisor")

I specifically asked for a fully flexible First ticket so I can modify or cancel later without a fine - initially resisted, then checked with supervisor, then all sorted.

Called in to check on my not-yet-ticketed JASA. Was advised that it takes longer for these ASAs to be ticketed (as opposed to ~one hour quoted yesterday).

As a comparison, I made another paid booking online yesterday which gets ticketed in 10 minutes.

Very simple, and fair.

Just had great success for what is probably my last JASA. Di on the premium desk (first time I have been able to call that :)) knew exactly what she was doing and all up, including a short hold to check on name change rules, the call took 10m 25s. Will post full details to the other thread.

Mrs_O and I are off the Isa rodeo!

I received my FASA E-ticket 14min after my phone call to Qantas.

Mine ticketed whilst I was posting to AFF :), so probably within 15 minutes of the end of the phone call.

Nice booking!

I requested and received verbal assurance that our F/MASA SYD-LHR for Apr 15 was fully flexible. Turned out not to be the case when I changed dates and was slugged $300...

Should have also mentioned that Di had already booked 3 of these today, normally 1 every 1-2 months, when I asked her if there had been a run on JASAs :).

Re: Successful ASA Bookings booked at classic rates Reference Guide

Been booking quite a few JASA's and FASA's for this year and into next to ensure I retain Platinum until the end of 2015 at the very least :)
