Has Climate Change "reporting" reached "End Game'?

Most turbines are 69% steel so absolutely could be melted down and reused there is no reason a smart cookie cant design turbines with a higher recyclable content they just haven't been incentivized to do so.
The issue is the blades. They’re made from fibreglass / plastic / carbon composites. They get damaged or cracked and need to be replaced. The structural steel towers will last for years.

Although, I cannot imagine a wind farm in the Tasman Sea surviving the first winter “Tasman Low”. But I guess the UK and Northern Europe have some in the North Sea (an equally inhospitable stretch of ocean in foul weather).

Well this is a part of the AFF I will now avoid. Climate “skeptics”, Tucker Carlson and Ian Plimar fans, people who know better than the CSIRO, who don’t now that renewables can, in fact, provide base load power, etc, etc.
Go for it guys

Most turbines are 69% steel so absolutely could be melted down and reused there is no reason a smart cookie cant design turbines with a higher recyclable content they just haven't been incentivized to do so. Remove the paint and steel can fully decompose in 50 years, spent fuel rods can remain dangerously radioactive for thousands of years.

Turbines should have a long life and not need to be pulled down and buried if properly maintained. There are e-waste recycling facilities for electrical components which are likley to fail earlier.
Sorry but you are wrong and ill-informed. This is why a Cambridge research study calculated the costly exercise of burying the blades and commenting on the pollution issues to the environment.
Turbines have a 15-20yr life. if well maintained. After this the subsidies cease and no longer offer a return to the investor who will then shut down the "wind farm". What happens then to the tower and the hundreds of tons of concrete foundation buried beneath the land? My bet is most overseas companies raping Australia for the subsidy will simply wave goodbye from the plane.

Further to my earlier post, I think it's time now to lock this thread before things get out of hand again. As I say Climate Science (and the reporting of it) is not our core business. It's a divisive topic which compromises the harmony of our community. I will also be deleting any newly created threads on this topic, without warning.
