Has the HSW gone downhill in Elite Treatment?

Bill, did you ask whether Hilton can distinguish between comped Diamond vs earnt Diamond, and whether this is a factor in the upgrade process?

Wouldn't be to hard. On Q! can show the desk clerk the stay history (property/recent/complete - summary/detailed) the of any guest at Hilton properties worldwide.

They can definitely see your past and upcoming stays...as a few comments lately either at check in or via the phone...."we thank you for your loyalty and you have quite a lot of stays coming up"

This may a bit of YMMV, I think. When i last stayed at the Hilton KL (where I stay frequently), I was told they could see my previous and future stays at their hotel but could not see my other Hilton stays....

A couple of different Hilton's worldwide have made the comment to me, including one saying "Oh you're off to Europe soon", so whether it is changing screen or pressing a magic button, they can see all I think.

I suspect it is OnQ, or perhaps they can see the reservation system...

I'm not sure they can kpc, I recall being shown my membership screen details by a former employee of HSW where there were 2 numerical rankings - one for the HH worldwide and the second specifically related to the property. She explained the second one as being "enterprise value" ie. the revenue/profit value of your stays to that property - so if you book cheapest rooms then lower value than somebody who buys Exec rooms, who is lower than the perso who buy Suites.

So after your first Diamond stay (and every one thereafter), you'd have changing values on both metrics.

Beyond those basic screens, the desk clerk can also drill down (If they cared . . . many don't appear to) ...

Re: How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

From my experience of late HSW have been trying hard to lift their game and get back to being everyone preference.

HSW is trailing a dining experience in the Executive lounge. Today is day two of the trial so a couple of us thought we might give it a go.

From what I can see it seems like a pretty good deal at $37 (minus 20% for those eligible)

Photos of the setup and menu are attached.

I'll post my thoughts after we have eaten.

I might have to help you sample a range of the menu! :)

Re: How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Interesting, was there over Anzac weekend and enjoyed the stay as usual - I think they look after their Elite members well and have never had a problem, was upgraded to a suite again. Will be back on the 10th for 4 nights so might book that for the Sunday night for us. Will be interested to know how the free alcholol works, if you arrive at 1930 for dinner does it stop 30 mins later or will they continue to serve you after the buffet is cleared whilst you enjoy your meal, or is it serve yourself and when they remove it thats the end. Would have to do early dinner if thats the case, no good turning up at 8pm for dinner when the wine finishes. I usually travel on my own so don't feel like sitting alone downstairs but in the exec lounge you might find someone to share with that is travelling on their own and share a meal, would be nice instead of room service back in the room, might even get to meet a fellow AFFer.

I have found that HSW stop the drinks on the dot, whereas HOTP will still serve whilst they are clearing up - and they clear away the booze last. :)

When we last stayed at HSW they let us know they were about to clear the drinks, they also let my partner put some beers aside for me when I was getting back from the F1 just after 8pm. The staff even gave her an ice bucket for them.

Re: How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Haven't stayed at HSW for a few months but have been surprised and a little shocked to read the comments here. Never encountered any issues at the property and have had a 100% upgrade rate, about half of which have been to suites. Usually split my MEL stays between HSW and The Langham but have found the Langham Club service to be a bit wonky in the last twelve months and have preferred HSW. Had some very good service from the Exec Club staff in the past.

My next stay is in two weeks for the footy and I'm keen to try the new dining experience in the Exec Club so I hope it's still being trialled (I won't be bringing any Collingwood supporters back to the hotel though - so rest easy ;) ). More than keen to share a beverage if anyone is there.

Re: How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

We had an excellent stay at HSW again this weekend. I always book the cheapest room and always get upgraded to a suite. This time we were again upgraded to a King Yarra Suite. My partner wanted to try a Relaxation Suite to see what they were like, so I asked if we could have one. No problem. Very nice too!
