The hotel statuses I get a lot more benefits from lounge access upgrades Internet welcome gifts and of course mini-bars

I would like to know if there is anyone else who is OW emerald member who has never flown with a one world carrier. Or UA 1k preimer member . For me I don't see the need for status or mattress runs when it's so easily obtained .

Not that big a deal. There are people who are Virgin Platinum and have never flown Virgin.

By the way, I got all those status without getting on paid flight either, as most of my flights are award tickets.

Big difference between 'without getting on a paid flight' and 'never flown on a ... carrier'. Especially when you think of the statuses obtained on those particular programmes.

I have used my BA Gold to get myself and family to QF SYD F lounge, The Wing at HKG, First Lounge at TPE in my recent trip.

I have. I practically have been status matched from when I got free VS Gold a few years back, then matched to BD Gold, then to AF Gold, VA Gold, then when BD got bought out by BA, I got BA Gold which is OW Emerald to mid 2014. I also matched to A3 which is *A Gold and that will last me to end 2015.

The only thing is that I don't brag about it in the forum, as I think status matching is a privilege and not a right. Yes I also maximise it but I appreciate the gesture of the airlines that offers status matching.

I think I started with Aegean gold or some airline aerosit can't recall And that free virgin platinum status that was offered a few years back. And like yourself just worked it around took a week.

I only use it for lounge purposes tho . I used it a bit on my most recent flights inter-Europe on BA

These 2 statements are incompatible.You don't access an OW lounge unless you are flying OW.

There are two games - how you use the programs and offers to your benefit. But the forums are also a game, in getting the information to do the former. No matter how well you have played the first game, you have managed to rub people up the wrong way on forums. Some people manage to balance the two much better.

People have tried to help you, but when you antagonise and rub people the wrong way and simply lack any common courtesy, peoples patience with you is going to wear thin.
