I just got my WP renewal card in and it's going to be a bit of a pain to have to ring up and activate the QCash annually I think.

FWIW the entire process is automated and fairly painless - you just have to follow the prompts on the phone and key in the required information. Strange they don't offer reactivations online though.

Yes, I did it today but like you found it strange that there's not an online option.

Just activated my card.

I am going to the US in Jan and figured this was the easiest way to buy USD before it bottoms out!!

Another good thing about QCC is that according to them, I don't have to tell them each time I am going overseas!.
I have used the card as well as my VGW card in NZ, no dramas, only thing, Ozgirl, is that you should also take along another card with a few hundred or up to a thousand Aud$ in it for hotel preauthorisation, as the funds on the hotel take as preauthorisation can take days to come back to your account, even if you dont use any of the hotels services.
One time, at the Novotel Auckland Airport, it took 20 days before my Nzd$100 worth came back, another time, on the visa debit card, it took 8 days. Guess it depends on the hotel though.
I was told you or I in the case of the Novotel, was allowed to check in with one card, and check out with another card, the first card funds get returned much later.
A lot of hotels also use the card for ID, and wont accept the cash equivalent for preauthorisations, or what ever the US hotels call it.
Preauthorisation means, you cannot spend that Usd$100 at each hotel stay, until the funds come back.
It was mentioned on here that QCC and VGW are not the best to use for hotel preauthorisations. And after my trips, I wholeheartedly agree.

Thanks Poochie!

I will use my regular cc for those types of things. I was think of using the QCC as I use my everyday ATM/paywave debit card.

And being able to withdraw cash for free at ATM's is good.

But mostly just happy to be buying 'cash' now before its too late.‎

How long does it take for points to post to your Qantas activity statement after spending money on the Qantas cash card? Do they appear individually or do they all get lumped together once per month? I've searched this thread and can't find out.

I was very impressed with the speed of deposit - an online bank transfer done yesterday morning (via CBA netbank) and i received an email later that same day to say the money had gone through

Once per month, usually same time each month.
