thegurio,
Flashware: Hope you both get back to being well very, very soon.
I remember being in PER for my contract work and needing to get one of my wisdom teeth taken out.
I had been to a clinic (viz. the UQ dental school) two months earlier that had said, yes, you should get this particular one out, but seeing as the dental school wasn't going to open until late Feb/Mar anyway I decided to wait (it wasn't painful). Then I got a sharp pain one night - to add insult to injury, it was the night before I had to move accommodations
so I was packing then trying to sleep, followed by going to work, moving stuff all in pain before getting to a clinic after work and having the tooth removed within hours of consultation.
Main thing was that I didn't eat any solids for a week. Much smoothies, scrambled eggs and the like was consumed. Very difficult to get chewing pattern correct without disturbing my sutures. Thankfully, after the second day but still against the predictions of the operating dentist and my sister (then a dentistry student), I managed to wean off my pain killers (with codeine).
Looks like my "pain" or whatever of it very much pales in comparison with all others here.
