Heads up about program changes

So after all that, do we know if JASA or FASA earn SCs for travel after 1 July, booked before June 30?

I promise to throw salt over my left shoulder and bury the bacon in the backyard, to ensure compliance with the requirement to be simpler and fairer.

Spend more money.

And churning credit cards with Qantas bonus points for signing up is useless now. ;)

Not necessarily. Those points can still be used for the normal (non-marginal) ASA's available on the website. (I am assuming they will still earn points and SC's?).

Lots of ways to fly on QF metal from asia for less and nest itineraries there.

Yes we do. Yes they earn.

From my understanding any type of award bookings will not earn SCs and QFF points if booked after 01 July 2014.

That is wrong. P+P bookings will earn. Which are the new ASA according to qantas. Old ASA will earn. However, they cannot be booked after 30 June.

I believe we have had every assurance that yes, SCs and pts will be earned after July 1 for xASAs booked pre-30th June 2014 - but of course we are yet to eat the pudding so it may be some months before we have the evidence in support. It will be interesting to see who posts first given that we won't get the first SCs/pts accruing until August given the QF commitment to post a month after travel.

This post made earlier today from someone on Facebook probably sums up where Qantas "Frequent Flyer" Program is headed!

I cannot believe you've posted that here. I also think you've taken it completely out of context.

It's in the new earning table as has been mentioned a few times here. assurances are not needed.

Why? 50,000 points for a Qantas Amex Ultimate card costing $250 (200 points per $ for initial cost) seems like good value to me.

I think it is great value.

To some people though it is going to be useless as they're never flying Qantas again because they cannot earn SCs and points on awards from 01 July 2014. No?

Really, you can be so childish sometimes.

Of course there will still be value in these promo's for people who use MASA's. Plenty of people who use MASA also use classic awards.

I'd suggest a new thread be created to have what Awesom Andy is doing.

The "Heads Up" thread has served its purpose, I think.

It's time to move onto how to "use" the new guidelines (or should I mention JohnK's vernacular ?).

Well done, Andy !

I couldn't agree more.

I think the current thread seems to be going around in ever decreasing circles, and I believe we need to start to develop new guidelines on how to handle what QF has handed us.

+1
Time to stop complaining and start working on how to make the best out of the new QFF system.

Maybe some, but not all of us.

I'm currently building status on VA because of these changes AND because a certain CEO keeps telling us that the future of QF Group is uncertain without Government Support (previously QFi was going to fail without: RedQ, EK tie-up, etc etc).

Previously, I would have had no hesitation in continuing my final 1500SC push to LTS (and then beyond) on QF. Given all of the above, I've wondered about the wisdom of OWE status and am hedging my bets.

Regards,

BD
