I have a trip to ASP and will be staying at DT for a few nights.

Rates are now loaded and the Hilton is definitely offering a lounge.
The dry cleaning is an interesting inclusion...

"Enjoy exclusive access to the Executive Club Lounge for up to two people, complimentary dry cleaning of two garments per day, complimentary web access, a free morning newspaper delivered to your room, universal phone charging docking station and a turndown service."

Following the Asian model for lounge rooms, where you get x pieces, from memory it's 3 at the DT KL, with the Sheraton KL offering 6 pieces, but its per stay not per night.

I think it's Sydney I saw an offer for a pair of shoes polished. Perhaps we need to start a specific thread about these little niceties!

Assume this is currently the CP? If so, nice enough, but be prepared to do a half-marathon from reception to the lifts, and then another half-marathon to your room, depending where it is. ~500 metres walk to the casino if that is your bag. Hanuman restaurant is niceish without being brilliant (big portions) and probably a little better than Sukra at the casino (Lasseters). A little out of town (maybe 15 - 20 mins walk - I drove), but IMHO there is not a lot to recommend the CBD.

Hilton KL offers executive guests 2 pieces of laundry per day (non accummulative) for stays greater than 3 days....boy did that come in handy in KL's humidity!

The Hilton is the best for location and will have a lounge, I will miss it as a Crowne Plaza.
Just noticed the Hilton Darwin (prev. Crowne Plaza Darwin) is 60000 Hilton points a night, and on the dates I looked at, were well north of $300 per night:shock: (stayed here in 2011 for Ozfest at $160 per night!!!)

Speaking of restaurants, is anybody aware whether under the old IHG regime it was possible to room charge between the three properties in Darwin? I'm interested in relation to the Hilton and you can probably guess why. :) If all else fails I can ask the hotel. :)

Yes you could, and I expect that will continue given its the same owner for all three.

Ok folks hers an update

1st day of Hilton

Nice new foyer

Told that points will accrue to my HH account

still sorting out status matching but told will happen

Access to lounge based on room booking - done.

restaurant rebadged as Mitchell's - slight menu change

Most of staff retained from IHG

Major revamp end 2013

Sorry forgot to advise did not get to lounge tonight but will do tomorrow night and give you an update

Now called the Executive Lounge. Given access as I was status matched to Diamond. Lounge has a great view of Darwin Harbour and is not that crowded as yet. Amenities are good and selection of beers and wines plus snacks is very good. Breakfast is much quitter than downstairs and a pleasant way to start the morning. I get Diamond status at this Hotel but will have to wait to accumulate sufficient stays to have it for other Hilton properties. Also now have to remember to pay with my CC and not have the bill sent back to the company to get points. I must say that points were quick to post (next day) which is a vast improvement on IHG and previous experience with HH.

I am not sure I understand?

When you log onto your HHonors account what status does it show you as being?

Treated as a Diamond Member due to being a regular customer by hotel with same privileges, but only at that hotel.

Thanks geoffsmith147. It is good to have another decent lounge in the Australian portfolio.
