Wow...my parents have a 3 nite flexible booking at Hilton Paris for Eur356 per night in 3 months' time; this sale rate is Eur 192 per nite but non cancellable!! decisons, decisions.... what would you do?
Are they still going? It is a no brainer if you are going to spend that much money on accommodation anyway.

I doubt it's going to get much cheaper than that, but it's going to come down to how sure your parents are in their bookings. Are they likely to change dates at all?

To be fair, Hilton allow on their advance purchase fares to be applied to new bookings with a fee, so you don't lose it all - for that sort of saving, it might be worth it!
Good to know...

I tend to agree....but my parents like flexibility

This evening I booked a couple of nights at Surfers Paradise for the mid-year Xmas Drinks and Dinner.
I booked the Saturday from Friday night using the January Sale for $30 per night less (before HPC discount).

Thenagain, they've had my $$ for the last 4 months ...

At a possible cost of €600?
Just spoke to them..they wanted me to book the cheap, non refundable rate at Paris straight away!! If they can't go because of illness, their travel insurance should cover it. They are also staying 3 nights at Hilton Athens at a flexible rate of eur 180 per nite and the sale rate is Eur 89 / nite:shock:. I have asked them to think about it overnight before I book...

Yeah book the non-refundable rates. The savings to me would be definitely worth it. 89EUR for the Hilton Athens is great, we paid 125EUR last July for an Acropolis View Room. The views are unobstructed but they are in the distance, also there is not much tourist-y things to do around the Hilton but there are a decent choice of restaurants nearby.

Has anyone actually been able to book this sale rate yet ?
I have tried for multiple hotels over multiple dates and it just doesn't show up....
The link in the email takes me to booking, but it either won't let me complete or the rates aren't showing at all.
The sale sale was to commence on 10/5/2012 but even allowing for delayed timezones it should be working.

I wish they'd had my money for 4 months to get such a great rate;)
I've paid $209 for Sat night and $194 for Sun night (and with the HMV discount I'm quite happy).

By procrastinating overnight, the rate is now Eur 240 / night:evil:...but still better then the Eur 356 / night with their previous booking...so booking made. So guys don't procrastinate, otherwise the great rate you see, may not be there when you want to book....

Actually it was Eur 189 / nite, now booked at Eur 89 per night...so a saving of over Eur 300 for their 3 nite stay. Dad's Diamond so hopefully they will get a nice upgrade in Athens and Paris. Saved just under Eur 700 for them by cancelling and rebooking...Thanks Hilton!

Just booked a saturday night at HSW for $153. Pretty happy with that and will be my first stay as gold at any Hilton.

Have a previous prepaid booking at Waldorf Rome so hoping its not any cheaper :d

Well you've definitely picked the right hotel to test out your newly minted gold elite status. HSW has always taken me up to the exec level and treated me extremely well ...

That is unfortunate but sometimes it is best not to wait for something better especially if travel insurance is already in place.

Now I need to quickly decide and book rooms in Thailand for July and September trips....
