Hilton Great Getaway Sale 2012

Just booked a saturday night at HSW for $153. Pretty happy with that and will be my first stay as gold at any Hilton.

I managed to get HSW for $179 not through the sale - was pretty happy with that!

Great Getaway Rates still seem to be bookable - I'm surprised they're not out of the system now that it's post July 23 (even in the USA). I'm thinking of booking nights just prior to Christmas.

I believe it's been extended until August 1.

If it is for stays between May 17 and September 30, that doesn't explain the the rates in December being discounted!

Off topica bit but staying at Hilton in SFO next week for 4 nights does one get any extra QFF points for doing so?.

No - it's 1000 QFF pts per eligible stay, irrespective of the number of nights (unless there's a special "mile" promo such as the Q2 Double option ealier this year).

You could try the "HHonors Points and Variable" miles MyWay option for one of the airline programs that support this such as AA or US (neither QFF nor Velocity do) where it's one mile per $ spend.

Seems to be extended again, certainly explains why when I was looking a week ago at dates in Sep/Oct it was still offering the rates:

On Expedia only? Wouldn't that nullify the stay as a HHonors stay?

Seems to be extended again,

I think in your neck of the woods it's still on, but finished down here.....

(ends August 1, 2012 for Asia Pacific region properties)

When using the "Book Now" tab from the Great Getaway page for AU hotels, we just get directed to the individual hotels "Special Offers" page, which doesn't show any Great Getaway sale any more (sniff)! :(

The sale at the moment seems to be the "Treasured Moments" promotion. It's 20% off and includes 20% off food and beverages during your stay.

Yes well - be careful with the 20% off food and beverage. HSW stung me here. Their main restaurant, Nuevo37 (sp?) isn't included in the discount promotion and neither is room service..... its a bit misleading frankly. The small print of the promotion does suggest talking with the hotel before using food/drink providers, but I reckon its a reasonable expectation that the major in house services would be part of it. I'll ask the GM for a comment I think.
