Hilton Honors Lifetime Diamond

Prompted by this thread I checked mine:
  • 979 Nights
  • or:1,814,000 Base Points
  • and:13 years out of 10 Years In Diamond
I have a booking for 7 more nights (cricket in Adelaide) this year, then 4 nights (cricket in Sydney) in January but then it is a dry patch, and it will take me until mid-2025 to reach 1000 nights.

Is loyalty to the Hilton brand worth it? Marginal on my travel patterns. Breakfasts, happy hours, a lot of 5 for 4 point stays are all good, but upgrades in some hotels have been as rare as hens' teeth. Most upgrade benefits have come from being a regular stayer at certain hotels not Diamond status.

I suspect it’s where you stay, too. And the regular stays as a diamond, as opposed to as nothing- it’s not easy to tease those apart.

I find upgrades pretty forthcoming outside of Aus and N. America. Breakfast and lounge guaranteed then improves the relative value when I compare to staying elsewhere. Lifetime status is hard to argue with though!
