I tried Chrome, then Safari and finally back to Chrome (with a warm re-boot) before it worked.

Wasn't going to head back to IE unless it was absolutely necessary.

On the road so don’t have usual access. Fail on safari, chrome and IE. Only 2K so whatever.

And just tried it randomly on safari as the page was still open — success!

Asia Pacific Sale Upto 25% OFF* | Hilton Hotel Deals
Asia pacific sale now on.

Am trying to decide if I lock in some Tokyo rooms now or keep my options open. Gee it's an expensive city!
Thanks for this! I just did a Price match guarantee, originally booked a non refundable rate for Conrad Hong Kong at 3168HKD after taxes on the 3rd Jan, submitted a claim today(6th) quoting a price at www.booking.com and have just been approved!

We are pleased to let you know that we have successfully processed your claim. The price on your reservation will now be 2,640 HKD per night (before/including tax/VAT) and, as per the terms of the program, we will apply an additional 25% discount, making your final rate 1,980 HKD per night (before/including tax/VAT). We are unable to modify pre-paid reservations; therefore, we have instructed the hotel to either adjust your existing rate or refund the total difference of 990 HKD to you

The hotel has already charged my AMEX, no idea how they are going to refund me.
After the $80 cashback from AMEX, I'm getting the base room for $280AUD per night.. that is crazy!

Wow nice work! I've literally NEVER had a price match come through. The last few times they have just plain ignored my claim.

Interesting. I know for sure the 10K bonus past 40 nights will be triggered, even for points stay. I closed out the year with a 10K hotel night redemption as I was 1 night short of the next 10th milestone and the 10K bonus points was credited the next day, so basically a free stay. :)

I believe stays using points do count for this promotion? According to the FAQ:
Will I earn Bonus Points for Reward Stays with the “Points Unlimited” promotion?
Yes – members will earn 2K Points per stay on reward stays. Reward stays will also count towards the 10,000 Bonus Point award.

Only 5k award that’s close by (if I could even use that term) is HGI Bali! Have booked 2 stays, if this is correct as you say, it’s a steal at 6k points for 2 nights, unfortunately I couldn’t extend it further to 5 stays as I only have 2 stopovers otherwise it’ll be even better value (5k points for 5 nights).;)

so guessing no "tricks/loopholes" to book a flexi stay (for July '19) and claim the current $80 AMEX cashback so I can double dip with the current 25% off Asia

HGI Bali is not somewhere I'd actively be trying to stay unless you have lots of overnights transits through Bali.

You can call the hotel and ask them to charge your card first, but that would make it kinda like a pre-paid.
I was able to call Conrad Tokyo and ask them to split payment onto two cards for a prepaid booking right after booking online.

Don't mind paying now as long as the Flexi bit is adhered to, if it comes to that

I spend a few paid nights in hiltons each year so have been keeping an eye on the rates. Some were cheaper before the sale and some are at best about $10 a night cheaper. Hilton have frequent sales that this is a non-event unless you need to lock in soon.
Not sure what double dipping you mean, though?

The 25% sale is basically a scam. Wait for a better rate.
I'm not quite sure I'd be bold enough to use the word scam, but essentially I agree with you. I seem to regularly notice Hilton advertise sales that don't seem to come through with the advertised "discount" (in fact sometime more). Occasionally, I have seen great sales, but I think the secret with Hilton is to know what the rate is that you'd normally expect to pay and work from that. I don't think I've seen in years a Cairns property have a sales rate that I consider "value"!

Same as foggy, I booked Conrad Osaka online and then emailed them asking if they could split and charge my cards now for my stay in March. They were happy to do it and got both my credits. Can't complain for $320 per night for a room one below Executive (praying for an upgrade as Gold)!

Just to advance the whole prepaying properties that qualify for the AX promo, I’ve done this across all 10 of my registered Hilton promo AX cards at several properties into 2019 which will put my folio credit balance well above what I expect to spend at each property. Before splitting payments I confirmed with each property their respective refund policy and some will refund to different CC (ker-Ching rebate) while others will give you the local cash equivalent minus a 3-5% fee - still way ahead considering the AX promo is 25% effective discount after rebate.

Possible to leverage even further on points stays (fully refundable no cancellation fees etc). You have to check each property’s refund policy though.
