i just emailed the hotel to see if they could split to 6 cards. Fingers crossed!.
An update to this, Hilton Osaka has split my stay into 6 cards after filling out a form for each card and faxing it to them (for security purposes, as per their policy). I am really happy with this outcome. Made use of the flash sale and amex deal. If anyone wants to do the same, [email protected] is where you have to email/contact.

Oh nooooo just booked a stay earlier today :(

Hope you got good rate. I’m looking to book in Tokyo and even with current sale combined with AMEX cashback rates are still very high. Need to remember taxes add about 30% to the final price!

I booked during the flash sale which was 40% off. Twin deluxe room (with breakfast because of promo) was $374 per night (todays rate)during flash sale. Now without flash sale it is $488 per night and no breakfast (todays rate).
With the amex promo, I should be getting it down to $310-315per night depending on what amex will charge in conversions.
I have no use for the breakfast as I am still holding diamond. I am regretting not booking a suite as it would have been $585 per night with amex. Flyertalk osaka hilton has suite upgrades very low probability.

Might be worth your while to wait till November and see if they do another 50% flash sale like last year..

Low $300s is ok for Hilton Osaka. Stayed there few times never got suite upgrade, matching FT reports. Much more challenging in Tokyo, can’t get anything under $500.

Did anyone make use of the Hilton 100% points bonus promo , planning to buy 80K points for $800 which will give me an additional 80K points. So it will be 160K points for $800.

Appreciate your time and inputs.

Its USD though, you will have to book a pretty high value hotel. I think amex stacking with flash sales is still the way to go though

I just bought the maximum the other day - to redeem Hilton in the Seychelles (I had 78000 in my account already) (see post When buying HH points makes sense ) - made the 5 night stay half-price. The confirmation has offers for various upgrades at reduced prices which I may take up.

So as @foggy said if you have a high end property in mind it works out very well - also if you require a 5 night stay - the fifth night free makes it even better.

Bit the bullet and did the Velocity Platinum status match over to Diamond (a bit nervous about all the changes at Virgin at the moment).
Received almost 18 months up to end of March 2021.
There is a sale on Asia at the moment so will be staying at the Beijing Capital Airport, and the Millenium, Double Tree and Sukhumvit in Bangkok.
Combined it with the 3x$80 AMEX cashback by spending 3x$400 (hope that makes sense).

If you did it around Jan, you would have received over 26 months worth. I gifted someone the diamond status in Jan as part of 100 nights benefits and noticed the expiry is March 2021!

Ah nice one... i didn't know the sweet spot like the United status match... not as well known... it was a bit implusive anyway :)

The rest of the year in which it was achieved/gained, then all of the following year and then the 3 final months, ending on 31st March. So, same system as status through stays/nights/spend direct with Hilton.
