Hilton Offering Status Match

I submitted my SM request from IHG Plat Amb. on 26-Nov, and was matched to HH Diamond over this last weekend. There was just one follow-up, on 03-Dec asking me to verify my existing HH account by confirming the current points balance. This might have been due to the fact that I was corresponding from a different e-mail account.

Looking forward to trying out a few new properties in the region as a result of this status match!

I have a free HH SG membership through my Velocity SG which I havent activated but I also have an IHG Ambassador card. Should I use my IHG Ambassador to get comped for the next 12 months and then use my freeby from velocity to extend it 12 months? choices choices

Status match now and keep your Velocity freebie for use later.

Submitted request against SPG Gold at 10pm last night, email confirmation for HH Gold came through just now, valid until March 2017. That was quick...

I've been either gold or diamond HH since 2009, mostly through SM but I did maintain gold one year though base points. Not sure if this history with the program counts for anything in the assessment of the current SM requests.

Comedy of errors with mine.

Sent off email from Hotmail last night with 2 attachments for IHG and Accor. Received a reply a few minutes later asking to reply to the email with attachments or screenshots. So sent off another email last night.

This morning received email they have not received the attachements and to send a screenshot. Hotmail doesn't do screenshots well so forwarded it to Gmail and sent off 2 screenshots.

Waiting to hear back.

Thought I would come out of my lurking closest (haven't been on AFF for quite a while) to say my husband has received Diamond status last night. It was status matched from both IHG & Accor Platinum.

Accor platinum matched to HH Diamond. 3 days to process as they merged 2 accounts so I didn't lose points on my old account.

Signed up to the program and emailed the address listed for the account around lunchtime (Perth). Received the auto-reply and responsed with another email with number and PDF photo of IHG Plat card (Ex 2015).

Received overnight reply and was matched to HH Diamond, pretty quick!

Depends on your chances of renewing VA gold and your review date. If we assume you'll retain VA gold and since ambassador gives you complementary IHG gold, I'd be using the IHG gold that to match HH gold and save your VA SM for another year. If you think you have a chance of becoming VA platinum, then I'd certainly save the VA SM until then and use it to match for HH diamond (Experience here is that you'd get another VA SM in that case regardless, but I think that is a VA computer error which may be corrected at any time, so why risk it when it's not necessary).

The VA match sits in your account for as long as you retain that level. I've got a full suite of VA SMs that's been sitting there for about 3 years now. Someone else may like to confirm or correct, but I'm of the belief that if you lose your VA level (ie drop to silver) you also lose any unused SMs that you have.

Made an application for status match and received gold from IC Ambassador up until 03/17, very pleased with that

Have been an Accor Platinum member for a few years, applied this afternoon for a match
and when I checked emails tonight was matched to HH Diamond. Have not stayed in a Hilton property for a few years but will now.
