Yes I got one of these as well. Noted in the fine print about the 365 day year rather than through to 31 March - I wonder why they did that, it is only a few extra months and would have saved them an administrative hassle of having a different expiry for these types.

Also note that you have to give to somebody with an account setup...which isn't hard if the intended recipient can rectify.

Another thing to note is that if you hit the 60 night threshold that allows you to gift Diamond to someone, that is in addition to this.

Also, if you're lifetime Diamond you are able to gift someone Diamond rather than Gold as part of this promo.

And now I can gift Hilton gold to someone :D

I haven't received the email from Hilton yet and last time I said that on here I got one about an hour later so trying to trigger it again.

I'm a bit confused by it all. I'm currently Platinum - thanks Macquarie - and have no stays so what can I gift someone?

Nothing in that case. If you were Diamond though, you'd be able to gift Gold ;)

What's everyone doing with their qualifying requirements in 2021?

I earned diamond in 2020 which is now scheduled to lapse in March 2022. Even with 14 rollover nights from 2020, I still need 16 more. With the border restrictions and general reluctance to travel, is it worth doing a mattress run when there's no certainty things will return to normal before March 2023? Even with Melbourne's Double Tree rates, I probably need to spend $3K for a status that may not be of benefit if I can't get to the Hilton properties in Asia.

Personally, I’m travelling a lot domestically at the moment and I’m not even bothering with status chasing hotels...(including Hilton) .

I’m very confident they will all extend again so have been taking advantage of the very low rates in better, more interesting properties I’ve always wanted to use but budget didn’t allow!

My (extended) Diamond status is due to expire 31 March 2022. With extended border restrictions and Sydney's current lockdown I will probably end the year with 1 stay of 2 nights :( Do you think Hilton will extend status again esp. for Aussie members?

Write to them and see what they say? Let us know how you go if you do.

I don't know the answer, and from memory they announced the extension last year in October, so I guess any decision is a bit down the track yet....

US members are OK, but European largely have the same issue. Lots of other chains have extended but lets see if HH does. I've only got 9 nights on mine. Diamond is but a sniff in the distance...........

I'm 4 nights off re-qualifying my diamond which was extended last year. I've got the bookings in place so any extension wont worry me this year

Will a member maintain their current 2021 status for 2022 regardless of 2021 nights stayed?

Yes, status is being extended for all members globally. All members will maintain their current status through March 31, 2023.

Will 2022 status qualifications reflect a reduction in requirements from 2019, similar to the approach for 2021?

2022 status requirements will reflect a 30% reduction from 2019 qualifications.

  • Silver: 7 nights, 3 stays or 17,500 Base Points
  • Gold: 28 nights, 14 stays or 52,500 Base Points
  • Diamond: 42 nights, 21 stays or 84,000 Base Points
Do rollover nights count toward the reduced status qualifications?
Yes, all nights stayed in the 2021 calendar year will count toward earning status in 2022. For example, a member with 28 nights stayed in the 2021 calendar year will start 2022 having already earned Gold status for the following year.
