Hilton Status Match

This status match programme has changed.

Now you match and get gold immediately challenge accepted.

If you complete 18 nghts within the 90 days you get Diamond status for up to two years. If you complete 10 nights you retain Gold for the up to two years.

It's 18 nights or 10 nights.
The requirement has change from a stay basis to a night basis.

So I was accepted for my Accor Gold to Hilton Gold match. I have 7 nights booked at Hilton Fiji next month, just need to find an additional 3 in the next 90 days. Should be fun.

I got matched HH Diamond to IHG platinum within 48 hours this week (IHG platinum courtesy of Virgin platinum which in turn was a status match to QF platinum :D).

What does the match to QF platinum mean? Can you match Virgin Platinum to QF platinum?!

I need to get my partner to match IHG to HH and wondering if I should recommend to do it via Virgin Plat. or just IHG to HH, whatever is easiest really.

edit: just read this "This is a great perk of Velocity status, but unfortunately you can only use the status match once." so it'll have to be a IHG to HH match,

ok thanks, how about the other way around? VA Platinum trying to get QF Platinum, is it by invite only ie targeted offer? o_O
No you cannot, QF doesn’t in general status match. Might for a very high value client on a one to one basis but definitely not offered if you ask for it.

Staying OT for a moment... if you work for a larger corporate who flies with QF as their preferred airline (or 'one of'), then see if you can find the corporate travel manager or procurement person who looks after the relationship with QF. QF will often make available a number of Platinum or Gold Accelerate challenges to select staff (by internal invitation), which typically need about 1/3 of the requirement for acheiving, but you need to do it within 90 days. If the corporate spends a lot, then they can also nominate certain persons to be gifted with WP or SG outright. And if they spend even more than a lot... CL comes into play ;)

Cheers,
Matt.

There seems to be a sort of alignment of the stars at the moment.

First, Hilton has already extended status to March 2021/2022, depending on when your status was already due to expire. Then there's rollover nights, where nights earned in 2020 will rollover into 2021, effectively giving a member two years to qualify/re-qualify. And Hilton's current promotion means double elite nights.

American Express also has a spend $250, get $75 back at select Hiltons in Australia until 30 November (Open for Travel | American Express Australia).

Bring all of that together with the status challenge and I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to earn Diamond through March 2023 with only nine (actually, probably 11 actual) nights and a few hundred dollars, if starting the challenge anytime from October on a date that would take your 90th day into 2021. Automatically, you only need nine nights instead of 18 to keep Diamond.

For example, start on 5 October, spend eight nights at the DoubleTree in Northbridge (WA) for about $105 a night (if booking eight consecutive nights) or about $116 (if booked separately) for a total of $840/$928. That gives you 16 nights due to the double nights promo, just two nights shy. Use the Amex offer to remove at least $75 off that amount but tap your friends to use their Amex to knock $225 off (3x$75), bringing the total to $615/$703. You're left with two nights to reach the 18 required for the challenge. You could do just one more night before 31 December (due to the double nights promo) but that would only give you status to March 2022. If you waited until January and then did two more nights, you'd have 27 months of Diamond for, I reckon, somewhere around $1000.

I am in NSW and was hoping to be able to make use of the current promotion but so far the only Hilton's I can make use of have been used for quarantine for sometime now. Canberra has no Hilton's and not being able to travel anywhere else due to border issues I have been making use of Rydges new added benefits. One being an old Hilton benefit of being able to cancel a booking up to 4pm on the day of arrival.

Luckily or maybe not depending how things go with Virgin I still have a diamond status up my sleeve but that could change before next year when I plan to activate it.

Do the quarantine people get double nights bonus and points for their stay? Maybe worth a flight down to Melbourne and back to NSW staying in the Hilton and lapping it up. :)

I wonder if any get an upgrade to a suite.

Has anyone had any luck with their current Status Match offer? Applied a week and a bit ago and nothing but crickets...

I am a Hilton Honors standard member, the lack of status with them due to their being very few Hiltons in FNQ , but now i have too make several expensive hotel bookings in the US
However i have Accor Platinum Status and have been for 4 years, the Accor group in the largest hotel group in the world outside the US, however this seems to counts for absolutely nothing with Corporate Guest Relations Specialist at "Hilton Reservations & Customer Care"
When you apply on line there is no allocation in the drop down menus for Accor hotels, you have to select "other"!
Ive tried 3 times to apply for status match, and i seem to be in a loop of no outcome , just the same bland standard Hilton reply of the following :

Dear XX,
We appreciate your interest in attaining Elite status with Hilton Honors. After careful review, regrettably, we are unable to process your request with the provided documentation as they are either ineligible to compare against Hilton Honors program or not an eligible hotel brand. For consideration, please reply with the following:
- If you are a member of another hotel loyalty program, please reply with a screenshot or photo of your existing competitor membership card with your name printed clearly on it (handwritten names or those that appear to have been altered will not be accepted)
- Copy of your recent competitor account statement and activity (those that appear to be altered will not be accepted)
If you are able to provide us with one of these required forms of proof, please resubmit your request by replying to this message and we will happily reevaluate your request within 48 hours.

I have provided them with everything they have asked for, it has taken about an hour to compile the evidence , however 3 times they have replied with this bland response, never once have they indication why i didn't qualify.
I have even called the Hilton honors customer care line in Australia, and guess what i got ? yes the Indian_-call center , who were unable to help !

I suppose i should in the lyrics of " let it go " give up on Hilton Honors :

"Let it go, Let it go, turn away and slam the door, i don't care what Hilton customer care say anymore"
:)

Has Any Accor Platinum member had any success with this latest "so called Status Match" ?
No not with Accor

I was just rejected for status match due to already successfully requesting a status match last year. The 90 day qualifying period expired during lockdown (Jan-Mar) however no status extension was granted. Am I being too precious trying for another status match when I can actually travel? Already have nights booked at Hilton so was looking forward to the status assistance…

There's a new Hilton status match offer available now. As per the old offer, you get Gold status for 90 days. If then stay 5 nights within 90 days, you'll get to keep Gold until March 2023. Stay 9 nights to get Diamond status until March 2023. This is half the number of nights required compared to the previous version of this offer.
