Relaxing at the hotel watching the symphony of light show from the exec lounge with some nibbles and a few glasses of Malbec after a most delightful flight.

I’m in love with this city already and I haven’t even started exploring!

Watching some light show but don’t think we are in the same hotel. I am on the island

We were at gate 63, went through transfer pretty quickly, and as I achieved *G in Apr I was keen to check out the UA lounge as I have not been there before but from what I have read it is a better *A lounge in HKG.
I visited this lounge in November. Not a bad lounge and reasonable choice of food. I also visited the SQ lounge at the same time and it was packed with very little space available.

OK dinner tonight in HKG. I think we need to call it so those travelling into HKG know what we are doing tonight. The Canton's Kitchen Dim Sum Expert at 466 to 468 Nathan Road Yau Ma Tai seems to be suitable and should be able to cope with us if we arrive together around 7 pm. I am happy to get there earlier and see if I can arrange a table, working on there being 5 or 6 attending. I suspect I will not be seated till at least 4 of us have arrived. My recollection is that if attendees travel to Yau Ma Tei station on the Tsuan Wan (Red) line and exit via the "C" exit. There is a pedestrian crossing almost directly in front of the exit on Nathan Road. Cross there and turn right. The restaurant is a short walk from there. It is a double frontage ground floor shop and is very well marked. For those who do not know me I (as always) will be wearing my AFF name tag around my neck and wearing a blue and white check shirt and blue shorts. If those attending could confirm, we will know who we are looking for.

Sounds great, I'll be there! :)

I've met most people going but for those who don't know me my avatar is me :P

I have not checked but I doubt it. They are a large property and there are many tables. If there is interest I can find out but firstly we need to know how many are attending.
So that I don’t hold all of you up, please don’t wait for me. I’ll drop by when I get there as I’m on Kowloon side, it should be easy to get to. My flight is currently delayed, had I known earlier, I wouldn’t need to gobble up my usual order of corn fritters in such a hurry! Hope they could make up the time during the flight.

Ps. Travelling on Y, so hard to bear after the new SQ suites. ..I’ll console myself it’s not that bad for the next 9 hours... oh well, at least the shadow stuck.

That's what happens when you climb those lofty heights. ;)

I'm in 45A on QF097 and 45B was blocked. See if still blocked when I board in a few minutes.

Weather is clearing. Hopefully it stays like this!

Just enjoying some breakfast in the lounge (which gets my tick - a la carte plus assorted dim sum etc) before heading out!

I find moving around the lounges is simple if you have a paper boarding pass. Several stamp them for re-entry and not sure how they do that on a phone. The in-town check-in is the way to go for paper boarding passes and to get rid of superfluous bags.

So do we need a paper boarding pass???

OLCI + phone(Apple wallet) will not work?

The block they had on 45B has stuck. About 18 spare seats on flight. Not bad for 14,000 QFF points.

Business not full either which is surprising.

Lucky you. A decent number of free seats on VA87 on Thursday, about 6-8 rows in the middle had 2 seats spare & hand a handful of window pairs only 1 pax seated. This Platinum was in a full row 11. Extremely irritating.

I will not be at dinner (nor in the QF lounges tomorrow, so who knows why I'm even posting here, ha!), but enjoy everyone!

I am behind the large black building (centre right) looking back, in Ewing's photo!
Weather has come good at the right time. Lets hope it sticks.
I am off to Stanley later this morning by bus (6, 6A, 6X, 66 or 240 from Central) for a light lunch. I usually go to the Smuggler's Inn on the waterfront. For first timers this is a great bus ride with amazing views. Stanley has the markets but they are nothing to write home about.
