HKG new lounge open

Looking forward to visiting it and SIN lounge in June. The whole 'additional benefits for F and Wp1' intriege me. Seeing QF killed off onward flights from HKG , it really seems like window dressing.

I'll make a visit on my upcoming flight but don't like that WP has been diluted since the merging of the F lounge, if I feel neglected it's off to the CX first lounge I go! Saying that the Singapore lounge service is great but I still don't feel better treated than the hordes of qantas club members there.

Mrs Lime & self be going through HKG 5th & 23rd May will give it a try, but probably finish up in the wing.

"...The service includes a hosted experience for customers travelling in First and Platinum One Qantas Frequent Flyers, with exclusive services including shirt pressing, shoe shining and priority access to showers."

So is this a new enhancement whereby P1s and WPs are treated
differently in the QF Lounges?

Except it is P1 and F pax, not WP.

I should be there just before Easter so looking forward to checking it out. It'll be a totally new experience for me as I have always been in the old J lounge and never upstairs.

I can Just picture a horde of P1's and F Passengers sitting around the lounge in their singlets and socks waiting for their shirts to be pressed, and shoes shined.

It would certainly make slurping your noodles less dangerous.

I'll be there on 14/4 and 25/4 - very much looking forward to comparing to The Wing and the old QF J. I usually have a shower and eat in the lounge so I can sleep on the plane so looking forward to new facilities and options.

I know it is the same in SIN but I find some of the WP1/F perks a little bit gimmicky. Shoe shine, shirt pressing are more suited for arrivals/transit lounges surely? Likewise is there really going to be such a demand for showers that priority access is needed?

“All of our flights from Hong Kong to Australia are overnight, so we know customers will enjoy being able to dine in the lounge before they fly so they can maximise their sleep onboard.”

With recent comments about reviews to cafe breakfast, I wonder if there will be an eventual abolishing of the supper (?) in J, makes sense to offer a full meal in the lounge for J passengers, remove the evening meal on board and then offer a full breakfast - only my personal preference.

Sounds like the BA ORD-LHR etc sleeper service, could have potential.

Looks interesting, visiting HKG next month but I might have to try the Wing while I can instead as I probably won't be able to maintain WP after this year.

Scott.

It's a nice enough lounge, like SIN there's somewhat of an industrial feel. It's not even comparable to the Wing though.

Well hope this new lounge is better than the first class lounges on offer before. I found the CX first class lounges in HK rubbish compared to that of Sydney. Last year it was virtually impossible to use wi fi in the Qantas lounges had to transfer to CX lounge if I wanted decent wi fi. Everything else in the CX lounge is under whelming.

I actually quite like The Wing. The leather seats are comfy, the wait staff superb and the food is ok.
The Cabanas are outstanding.
Each to their own I suppose.

My sentiment exactly, makes the world a much more interesting place.
Yes I found the CX lounges rubbish, if the wing is first class I wasn't impressed, found it to be rubbish compared to Qantas in Sydney, the new Singapore lounge Im very impressed with.

You found Wing F rubbish? Really?

Here here. Apart from the odd loud noodle slurper in the Champagne Lounge ( ;) ) The Wing is excellent. I have a vague feeling that thommo50 might be pulling our legs# .

I'll poke my nose into the new QF lounge just to check it out, but I don't expect it to replace The Wing as my favourite hang-out.

# Edit - or the view might have been established pre Wing renovation?

why would I be doing that. I have my own particular tastes. As I've stated many times, I'm not a lounge person period. I hate airports. It has to be pretty well outstanding for me to sit in the stupid things. I would rather spend my time outside of airports. Spend too much times in airports as it is to be a lounge junkie. Even the first class lounge in Sydney, 30min is enough for me.

Well I do concur with thommo50.. the Wing F does get a little boring / underwhelming after a while... And IMHO not as good as SYD F.
I like the CX Bridge though...
