Hobart Call Centre may be offline for a little while...

Good to see no one was seriously injured. Must have been a scary event for all.
Agree.

But what a way to get those pesky P1’s off of the line.

I hope that the injury to a staff member was no more than a paper cut at the photo copier.

Nothing in mainstream media as yet? Maybe a paywalled article in there somewhere.

I hope everyone is ok.

I don't reckon I've spoken to anyone in Hobart in at least two years, maybe more. Pretty sure that Emma this morning was either in NZ, our maybe even Fiji.

I just rang again as I am having issues changing a classic with the other centres.

There was a recording straight away saying "our HB call centre is closed due unforeseen circumstances"

Email just sent to P1s:

Our Hobart Contact Centre, including the Qantas VIP Service Team, is currently closed due to unforeseen circumstances. We will reopen as soon as we can. In the meantime, our ability to respond to service requests via email and phone is affected, and you may be redirected to one of our alternate customer service sites.

As call wait times and email responses may be longer than usual, unless your request is urgent you may want to consider delaying contacting us until Hobart reopens. You can also find information on fares, schedules, and bookings at qantas.com.

We appreciate your patience and apologise for any inconvenience.

Surprised they haven't just reinstated whatever they had in place for covid...

We might finally see some Classic awards now that the Platinum/Platinum One “gimme gimme gimme” award hotline is down. Eh, wishful thinking.

Well for what it’s worth all the calls I made tonight regarding classic reward release of seats were appropriately routed to the Auckland team who were very helpful.

I wonder if some (Hobart) agents were still working from home after the events?
However given the nature of the events, I am doubtful if people needed to be interviewed as witnesses, use available resources (employee assistance program/ counselling)

I hope everyone gets the help and support needed 😣
