First time in the temporary lounge for HBA whilst renovations are occurring.
Definitely not an improvement - toilets are now in the public concourse and the space is smaller.
Food offering area is also smaller so nice and intimate. Today they have tomatoes, a week ago they were off the menu.

In a new personal low for me, 2 Americans were refused entry on their business class tickets as they needed to be a Qantas Club member according to the door person.
‘Someone’ may have overheard and interrupted stating business class was entitled.
The excuse was the QF person was not in here often and wasn’t sure, but still waited until an experienced colleague returned from <the external toilets?> to allow them in.

Its at the end of the terminal near Gate 6?
Yes. Basically veer left towards the windows and it’s there. Actually has a large red sign so you can’t miss it.

And breaking news QF seem to have stopped the random update love as currently in 4A and sooo close to a vacant 3C & 3D. But someone known to QF staff got a free big seat at the gate 😪

Is this a joke?

Also, do you have any photos of the rest of the food offerings?

No joke. The young girl was adamant they could not come in with their business class seat, they needed to be Qantas club and some other status I didn’t hear.

More food pictures? No, that was all there was. More variety at your average family Christmas party.

A Tassie thing? 🙁

Ummmm… think we would’ve heard about it if they were routinely rejecting business class passengers from the QP. Even from the OP’s words it’s clearly a clueless temp on the table while someone else went to the loo.

Juvenile comment, but not a typical.

Christmas parties tend to have a bit of booze available. What does the HBA lounge offer?

You know, in countless visits to the HBA QP I don’t think I’ve ever had a drink there ( always morning flights). But there is a fridge with the usual couple of wines and from memory three or four beers.

These photos came from 2021:

May not be the most sophisticated range, but enough to whet whistles. Thank goodness they have Boag's, eh?
