No not Huonville, I live at Old Beach, so the choppers we see are heading to the Geld River fire, which the fire fighters say will be fought for next 3-9months. Wrt burn offs, not sure as their budget has been blown in certain divisions. No idea about forestry this year sorry.

My brother lives at Geeveston (home of Rosehaven) so I’m comsidering a trip sometime this year just not in the chill of June winters. That of course in 2016 was The same weekend Rooflyer arranged the first gin as Buzz, the Mrs and Mr Major and Steady we’re staying at Rydges so we had breakfast on a couple of mornings !

Also, I doubt there’ll be a Test match anytime soon but that’s another reason to Hobart it....

Unfortunately not. Not enough money bring generated, not withstanding the attendance at the Hobart tests were proportionally greater than other cities.

Even without a test match tradition, and with the matches scheduled for Spring, a windy and cold month here, we were supposed to flock to the matches in even greater numbers proportionally than the traditional test match cities.

Still interested in a Tassie wine thing. I haven't been to Tas yet. How about a smaller event, like a dinner or a lunch that flows into dinner? XD

I’m pleased this thread popped up again. GPH and I were only chatting last night about another trip to Tassie shortly (bringing the Big Black Beast for a lengthy Road Trip).....and to catch up with fellow AFFers @RooFlyer & @Steady.

I’m happy to do something (drive a hire van or organise a mini bus etc) in the Tamar if there is enough interest.... or travel down to Rooflyer’s and Tassieoptom’s and enjoy their hospitality again. Just need some notice.
I also recall @lovetravellingoz showing interest in Tassie and offering to drive

I need to plan carefully. I have to drive down from BNE , find someone to babysit Black Beauty (and Mrs GPH) on the ferry while I fly across to meet the the boat.

You can count me as interested, dependent obviously on dates etc.

Looks like we are getting some traction here.

GPH can drive as far as the Ferry Terminal and fly over while I sail the Beast across Bass Strait.

We may be able to form a 'Convoy' if We join you at Yass in the LBC (little black shopping trolley (WRX)).
Of course, we would have to hang back at a respectable distance.

Make sure you visit Mona. There’s a terrific new(ish) tapas bar there now that looks out over the water. Terrific drinks.
