Hotel quarantine experience when returning to Australia

With those 14 days of prison cell flashing by you are now in a Sydney hotspot. It is running roughly outside your cell block.
How many yummy meals to go?
Are you sharing that one pillow they managed to provide?

You can request more pillows 😂

I think that request fell on deaf ears.
The mugs to replace the paper cups were about as good as it gets.....
Then there was a second chair so you didn’t need to sit on a bed or the floor.
I heard the Dyson mini vac has been a winner to offset boredom for at least 5 minutes. That breaks up 24 hours......

The day after my first COVID test on day 3 in quarantine I got a message saying there had been a positive case on my flight, therefore I was a close contact and I had to quarantine. One of those "like, hello?" moments.

That’s a pity, you must be in a cough hotel.

Another 8 1/2 days to go, and 25 square meals to go 😜 - actually today's lunch was not too bad 8/10 with a nice slaw salad.
There is an info brochure in the cell with the hotel email address for amenity requests. The services have improved - today they delivered fresh set of bed linen for 2 queen beds and towels, as requested. We made the 2 beds and I said to hubby, he has to be more generous to tips for the room maids in the future because it was hard work making the 2 beds.
Giving up on asking for a soft pillow as all 5 pillows in the room are all same stiffness - me think, it is time for them to replace the pillows as they are very old and flat.
Next instalment of Jack Irish this afternoon.

I did hint that it ain't a Hilton Waldorf Astoria, nor Park Hyatt, nor JW Marriott, nor Intercontinental 😂

Well the way things are going in Sydney, it may be in the middle of a Sydney lockdown when you are released from your prison ;)
Yup...lock down for 2 weeks in Sydney, Blue Mountains, Wollongong and Central Ciast just announced so you will be in lockdown when you are released from your hotel prison!

We will not be able to come around your place for that BBQ then 😩 Just drive past our house and we will wave at you from a safe distance instead 😂 At least we will be at home with fresh air, sunshine and freedom to move around inside our home and have a conversation with the rainbow lorrikeets in the backyard. Only problem is that we will not be able to carry out all our essential appointments to re-establish our life in Sydney. Also we are very used to wearing masks as soon as we opened the front door in London for the past 20 months.

Above all, we are extremely thankful for the loving and cheering support from friends on this forum, and long term friends in different generations living in the US, UK and AUS.

Counting down the days to prison quarantine release ... 8 1/2 days and 25 more meals 🤣

Tonight about 5 million are joining the lockdown around Sydney. Great time for mask sellers and not good for most.

After we arrived at SYD, we were handed 2 paper bags with 20 disposal masks in each - they will come in good use now.

We will have the Bbq when the lockdown is over. :) We are still allowed to go out to exercise and your house is on my jogging / walking route, and you are allowed to go outside to exercise...or we might see you at the local supermarket :)

Those photos remind us of O2 concerts, Waitrose, The Gun and lots of other stuff around Canary Wharf in London.. This no travel must be affecting more folks than just us but our immediate family have 5 properties overseas that none of us can go to this year it seems.
Walking around the suburb sounds like a really good idea for exercise @kpc.

We watched the Blue Bridge and other bridges opened from time to time. We missed living on the Thames and near Canary Wharf. We feel for you not being able to visit and stay at your beautiful overseas apartments. We hope these lockdowns will be a thing of the past one day and all of us can return to our wanderlust again. But, Perth and NT have now joined Sydney for the lockdowns 😩
Another 7 1/2 days and 22 meals to devour ... till prison hotel release

Yes Perth metro has now joined the Northern Territory and parts of NSW so it is back to masks today for us.
We are wondering about getting from Sydney to Perth on June 30th even with a G2G pass with this lock up. WA does cancel some G2G passes.

@Myrna we ducked up to our local Perth IGA knowing a press conference was set for 4.30pm. Masks on we got granny her special ice creams and red Lindt chocolates plus the rolled oats for our various bird visitors.
Our business is rated as essential so we will be working with masks on based on the rules.
So we have joined the group in lockdowns around Australia.
Now you are passing the halfway mark in your cell @Myrna so time is marching on with your release date not that far away.

Glad you got to IGA before the Perth lockdown, to get granny her ice cream and Lindt chocolates, and the birds their food.
Hooray, half way to release date. Tonight we heard talking noises in the corridor, so it sounded like the next lot of inmates have arrived. Hope they are not in the cell right opposite our cell, because hubby worries that they may open their cell door at the same we open ours for taking in food delivery or putting out garbage bags. I will look through the peep hole first before opening our cell door.
Another swab this morning - I don't like it at all, particularly when they poked the stick up my nostrils, it was painful.

The Perth rules are short of a full lockdown so it is more masks on than you cannot do this and that.
Meanwhile granny and the birds did well earlier this evening.
Our Sydney guest has a quarantine flight back to Perth on Wednesday and I think she will have to do 14 days of some form of quarantine. We had thought she might be trapped in Sydney.
That Sydney to Perth flight will only be partially full from what we have been told.
Our youngest son has abandoned his trip east and our eldest son’s trip to Cairns is still a few days away.
