How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

I think it's yet to be fully revealed to us, just how much our "good" or "ordinary" luck is determined more by our individual ratings. I'm still in two minds about honestly answering feed back surveys. I'm tending to think Hilton skin may not be very thick and is more responsive to supple moisturising than hard cow-dung mud packs.

Mmm, its a good point. I've had occasion to be pretty truthful ... but not in a good way ... about some properties and I often wonder if that will help or hinder my future stay experiences.

I get it that some say this hotel is dated.
I think it applies more to the high end rooms and suites (same as in Adelaide).
The location and service are the true highlights of this hotel IMHO.

I got a breakfast voucher on check-in at HSW last month. 1st time I've ever been issued with a voucher.

I often get them at European hotels.

I recently dropped to Gold and notice on my booking that my Gold benefits listed were only Wireless Internet and a possible room upgrade.

Does this mean Exec lounge and Breakfast are no longer benefits??

Exec lounge is no guarantee. Breakfast is guaranteed I think.

My third stay at HOTP and whilst the rooms are a bit old the service sure makes up for it.
Check-in was a breeze, upgrade and breakfast downstairs offered without asking.
Lounge food was good, Salt and pepper Calamari and a beef curry on Monday and Chicken Satay and some Brioche on Tuesday. Greeted by name on Tuesday night, shown to a table and the gentleman in charge remembered my drink preference from the previous night.

First time visit with a car, and $28 a night for parking, when your only there for 12 hours I think is a lot. Does anyone know of cheaper parking around HOTP?

I would think that it is certainly the case that OnQ has a lot of information in it (possibly more than we realise) and I'm intrigued to find out what they have on OnQ about me.

As for feedback, I provide a lot of it. Most of it is positive, but I'm also not shy in saying when it wasn't as good.

Stayed last weekend. As Diamond, got upgraded to Executive room, not suite for a 1 night stay. No welcome note, bottle of wine etc. Breakfast in lounge or in restaurant (typical Hilton fare but good) downstairs. Good location but hotel getting a little tired, having just had its 30th birthday! Did not use executive lounge as went out for dinner but do note the lounge closes between breakfast and evening canapes. On weekends, lounge closes at 8pm. No problem finding free nearby street car parking, and as parking is free on Sunday, no early rise to move car required...

I have to remember to complain about this next time I'm there. I really dislike lounges that close early and/or close during periods of the day. The whole point, for me, is to have a (sometimes) quiet place to sit and have a coffee and perhaps a little PC related work without having to hide away in my room. I don't really care if there are staff present or not, nor if they like to lock the drinks cabinet (if they must), but closing the whole lounge is a bit silly in my view and not at all convenient.

Totally agree. What's the point of having a lounge if the customer can't use it. Nice tea or coffee while reading the local paper (because they forgot to deliver one to my room) is always a winner

Received a call from the Duty Manager not long after arriving to the room just to check my HH Gold bennies were explained to me at check in. Interesting to note that when you check in the form has a gold sticker on it, I presume as an extra reminder of your status.

That should be HHD in the bag now. Just need to wait for it to update online and then chase up if not!

One other thing I will note is it is quite noisy. My wife was kept up (I sleep through anything) by the constant closing/banging of doors all night as well as people walking through the corridors laughing / chatting loudly well after 11pm.

After a day or overnight flight then a bottle of water is one amenity I really appreciate.

Holiday Inn Auckland airport once had at least one bottle of water in the room which is perfect to re-hydrate yourself.
