Thanks guys. Just luck would have it that the one time they don't top the water up is the one time I am sick on holidays and would appreciate the extra hydration.

Will try asking for next time. Of course, I didn't mind as 7-11 was downstairs and allowed me to pick up some waters there. Oh and maybe I bought a naughty little slurpee as well... :p

It is, by letter of the benefits, per stay. That said, anecdotally, many have found that sometimes their water gets topped up everyday. Hey, in Brisbane, instead of two bottles, sometimes you just get one big bottle (it's actually short changing you by about 200 mL, but who is counting....)

The big bottle is actually more expensive then Mount Franklin and I'm almost sure it's free only for executive rooms. I forgot the name of the brand but I do remember Westin sells it for $9 in their SYD hotel.

Not sure what Aus stocks but over here it tends to be Strathmore (sparkling / still).

According to HH regs, is it true that we only get 2x waters per stay? This is for a Gold HH member.

From my research, it seems to be the case. Also, last time in SYD MAGIC said it was per stay. But people on here report on receiving top ups during housecleaning visits. So now I'm confused.

I confused myself on this issue after a long string of stays in SE Asia - my anecdotal data seems to be that hot places seem to favour giving you a daily top-up. Certainly throughout SE Asia I was getting two water replacements per day, one during normal room cleaning and one at turn down. I'm up at HSP at the moment and they seem to be giving me more water at turn-down which is nice and appreciated. HSW/SYD/HotP seem to favour the two small bottles once per stay.

As others have said, once per stay is the T&C benefit.

It's a good example of the difference between Conrad and Hilton. A lot of small things that come together to create a better stay experience.

I just ask concierge for new bottles and have never been denied.

Oh, they may never say no, but who knows if you won't see a few bottles added to your room folio?

Anyway, I know what you're getting at; at least in Australia, most or all properties will be obliging.

If anyone was interested, I've posted my thoughts on a handful of US Hiltons in my TR: http://www.australianfrequentflyer....s/trip-report-conference-las-vegas-59195.html

However, more locally and somewhat belated:

Status: Diamond
Property: HSW
Rate: $250/night
Dates 24 - 25 April
Booked: King Hilton Guest room
Received: King Hilton Executive

After my experiences in LOFAP it was wonderful to be back at what I feel is a 'real' Hilton.

No suites offered (didn't ask) which is the first time in a long time that this has occurred. No card either.

Had an 'executive room'. Like all the guestrooms here, I think they are super comfortable, and a great size. Surely has to be one of the best in Australia? They are also probably the newest, so I'm sure that is part of it.

Lounge offerings have changed a bit since my last visit (it has been a while). I like it, though the quantity of food seems to of diminished. Live singer in the lounge was a nice touch tho.

Every 12 months or so I tend to need a reminder as to why I go for a walk down South Wharf as opposed to eating in the abysmal restaurant downstairs. Tonight was that night. Avoid Nuevo37. Just bad food. Lesson learned permanently I hope - much, much, much better options all within walking distance.

That's exactly what I think every time I stay at Hilton Sydney :D
