How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Property: Hilton London Heathrow Terminal 5
Date: 10-13 July
Room booked: King Hilton Guestroom
Rate: Varied by night; up to GBP120
Received: King Hilton Executive room, 4th floor

To be honest, having stayed in a standard King Hilton Guestroom previously, the only difference that I could see was that I had a separate shower cubicle (as opposed to a shower-in-the-bath combo) and complementary wine and choccies. This isn't meant to be negative as the Hilton is fairly new, and is my first choice when I need to stay in the area - the breakfast in the main restaurant is excellent, with masses of choice (worth going there rather than going for the reduced offering in the Executive Lounge), plus the rooms are very clean and an excellent size.

It never stops to amaze me how everyone here know my name. I'm really not such a frequent guest at this hotel but still being treated much better then in other Hiltons where I stay more often *cough* Hilton Sydney *cough*.
Nice to see a different variety of wines in the exec lounge, such as Penfolds Koonunga Hill. Anything is better then Bay of Stones.

Music to my ears boomy :)
I will be there in a couple of weeks and cannot stand the Bay of Stones plonk

As HH Dia when making booking where in the hell do you see the 'Wife Stays For Free' bit please?

And do Hilton regularly use these little asterisks to trap unsuspecting mugs like me?

Rate per night 1.JPG

See the PRICE PER NIGHT (AUD) - * AU$350 - but click on Rate Details

Rate per nt 2.JPG

Right at bottom - * = Rate change during stay?

Put something like "My spouse will be staying in the room as per HH T&C's" in the comment/ request box when you make the booking.
And yes that's a common little trick with the changing room rates.
Time for a mattress run I think away from the Double Tree Times Square ;)

EDIT: Check The Conrad rates, it's an absolutely superb hotel if you are looking for Hilton properties

Taa for that PF - was really looking for Midtown area if poss.

I have stayed numerous times at DTS, fantastic location big rooms by NY standards but it could do with a re-furb. On our family visit at Xmas we stayed twice in The Conrad and over New Year at DTS. The family almost universally (with the exception of me) rated The Conrad miles ahead in every respect.
I'm a bit like yourself : Location, Location, Location

So IYveryHO but also IYveryVO - which is best value - DTS @ AD567.55 or Conrad @ AD590.62?

If you are not set on Hilton SPG have better AAA rates available for those dates.
Heresy I know in a Hilton thread but club floor at Sheraton Times square would be over a $1000 cheaper and includes your internet and loung access. Not as good a hotel but definitely cheaper.
But some of the non chain hotels on discount booking sites are probably going to be cheaper. Some have very good reviews.
The Michelangelo which is close to Radio City would probably save you around $600 for an executive room which gives you free continental brekkie and if you join the Preferred hotels loyalty program(free) you get free internet as a basic member-

First ever stay at HotP, booked Deluxe, upgraded to Relaxation Suite. Hmm..I might need to change this to my preferred for MEL instead of HSW.

Property: HOTP - Melbourne
Date: 2nd-3rd August 2014
Room booked: King Deluxe
Rate: $322/AAA Rate
Received: Relaxation Suite - Room #1213
Notes: As per evidence in this thread received an upgrade to the relaxation suite. There was no mention of the upgrade at check-in as the agent just read back my room as booked but did tell me I had access to the Exec lounge. No card or waters from the hotel but not fussed with that. I did however find the wifi to be very slow which makes it a real pain and just reverted to tethering my phone.

This was my first stay at HOTP after many at HSW, and this the best upgrade i've had across the two properties. We love the location as it's next door to the gardens where we got married last year. Will be back for sure.

Missed you by one night.

FWIW, they are up to their usual standard tonight. Diamond upgrade to relaxation suite, water delivered after check in.
