How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Status: Diamond

Property: Hilton Cairns

Date: 8 & 9 May

Booked: Double Double Guest Room - $169 Queenslander rate including breakfast and valet parking

Received: Double Double Executive Room

Also received 3 bottles of water on both days, bottle of sparkling water and packet of chocolate covered coffee beans (yum).

Excellent stay in Cairns. Jemma in the Executive Lounge was fantastic. Had breakfast in Cafe Sunrise first morning and in the lounge on Sunday.

For some reason we were charged for breakfast on the Sunday on checking out but it was quickly reversed once pointed out it was in the room rate.

Only downside was wi-fi not working in room other than in the bathroom, and the couple of LNP members of parliament (there for a Northern Australia policy conference) who thought they should skip the line on checkout.

Why would you ask that?

If it was in relation to the previous post re Cairns, that was on a rate that included breakfast 'downstairs' in any case.

So do Hilton Cairns no longer offer full breakfast downstairs to Diamonds?

They do for this rough diamond!

Why would you ask that?

The previous post re Cairns related to a rate that included breakfast.
I think because Sbv72 is a diamond member. Clearly as a diamond and with a rate that includes breakfast, this was a mistake by H-CNS which was reversed when noted.

Hilton Brisbane
free weekend voucher from Macquarie
King Hilton exec room booked and that's what we received
1 litre bottle of water, letter from manager Chris Partridge

Feeling the love again at Hilton Perth with a solid upgrade and great service which included canapés, free glass of Vasse Felix Cab Sav ($15) in the bar and complementary barista coffee for breakfast.

2nd consecutive suite upgrade at HSW!

Clivem, Prawngate is indeed alive and well at HSW! No prawns in sight this week and I made sure I arrived early today too. HSYD is more consistent with their prawns offerings ;)

Booked: King Beachfront Studio
Received: King Beachfront Studio

Welcome card and large fruit plate.
Only stayed one night after a late arrival and before an IC Natadola Beach stay. For this reason I did not query or request an upgrade.

I was a little disappointed with the resort - no upgrade, the rooms are not wearing very well, breakfast in the adults only restaurant was pretty ordinary and the beach is as I expected (i.e. yuck sand and nothing like the Coral Coast). Also, the hotel only allows Denarau taxis to take guests out of the resort. We had arranged for the delightful taxi driver who drove us from the airport to the hotel to pick us up the following morning. The security staff at the front gate of Denarau Island would not let him in even though they ok'ed it the evening before (I had also written down our name, hotel etc on a note for him). I had misplaced the driver's business card so had no way of contacting him. Luckily he arranged for a Denarau taxi to pick us up and meet him in Nadi but this ended up costing more.

On a positive note, as well as the usual Peter Thomas Roth toiletries there was Pure Fiji coconut soap and personal insect repellent as well as PTR 'After sun cool and calm gel'. The pools also looked very inviting.

Booked: King Room with Breakfast

Received: King Room Executive Room

Recently opened an office in BNE and looking at hotel options. Hilton is close to the office, but quite expensive - over the next 3-4 months will review options.

Good service recovery - had a problem with TV with a couple of channels, they were not able to fix it, and they offered me a free pay movie.

Thought the staff in the Executive Lounge were excellent.

H-BNE has skyrocketed in price (IMHO) over the last couple of years. I used to be able to secure $130 nights regularly (even as low as $80 a few times with a special rate), but those days seem to be long gone. Given the parking is over $50 a night, it kills the idea of me staying in BNE before or after a flight.

Likely a double mistake ... breakfast should not have been charged both for being "in the room rate" as well as the guest being a Diamond.

Yes. I had breakfast in the restaurant on Saturday morning and no hint of it on the room folio.

Maybe with all the politicians in the hotel for a conference they would try to sneak it in and hope it wasn't noticed.

Hilton surfers paradise as diamond
booked king exec room, received relaxation suite
no recognition at reception re status. managers letter just mentioned exec room benefits
lounge good, staff great..even reception staff have lifted their game
first stay without a bucket of free beer waiting in the room. though the macaroons were great
large bottle of still and sparkling water in room
breakfast in lounge more than adequate - if we'd have gone to salt it would have been $10 a head(which I thought should be free for diamond)

overall a pretty good stay

We had the cooked breakfast in Salt a couple of weeks ago - no charge.
Is the $10 per head charge an option for those who want to upgrade from the Exec lounge and who do no have status?

We had breakfast in Salt last Sunday morning. Had been upgraded as a gold to an exec room. No charge, and $5 Cappuccino fee waived for two of us.
If I'm in an Exec room, I don't ask anymore if breakfast in the restaurant is included, just turn up and have yet to be refused.

no. the lounge staff knew i was diamond and rang and checked with 'management' who said there was a $10 a head change even for diamonds

I would say more then a couple of years. Used to be my home away from home once and weekday rates were usually quite high. Sure, you could (probably still can) find cheap rates on weekends and around the holiday season but why would anyone want to stay in BNE during that time :D

Is your Myway set to comp breakfast ? All my stays both gold and diamond have included breakfast at Salt including coffee once your state your status. Unless this is a recent change.
