Was informed at checkin that those who do online checkin get priority upgrades. Glad I did the online.

Had continental breakfast in the lounge. Not a big offering, but nice, friendly staff.

I currently have no status with Hilton, just checked into the Parmelia Hilton in Perth and got a free upgrade to a suite and bottle of champagne. Thanks PH made my day

Are you by chance a previous long standing customer who by happenstance just doesn’t have status right now? If not, and you're a blue this is indeed an extraordinary upgrade enjoy!

Has anyone had an issue with hotels trying to charge for the second guest as a gold? I've gotten into an email thread with a hotel for an upcoming stay who keep insisting that they will charge me an extra 22 euros for the second guest. At this point I don't want to rock the boat, but maybe take it up with Hhonors when the stay is complete.

I had a an e-mail exchange with Hilton Coylumbridge who disputed the spouse status free. I resorted to quoting and screen shotting T&C before they came back at me that the rate I booked included dinner and spouse stays free didn't apply. Happy to pay £6 extra for 4 x 3 course meals

As stated by Sbv72, the 2nd guest stays free is only a stay using existing bedding. Check the rate you booked as if it's a bed and breakfast or similar rate that includes extra, then they may ask for additional payment to cover the extra inclusions.

Further to my post #5383, at turndown our room (1509) was given a mini makeover. More towels, more comp water, toiletries replaced, bins emptied. Could not be happier with the service. Was told at breakfast that there would be a coffee tax but let's wait and see.
This is also the first Hilton I have stayed at that had sparkling wine (St James) at breakfast.

We may have kicked off with a glass before the most recent wine tour ;)
