How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Property: HSW
Date: 18 & 19 December
Status: Diamond
Booked: King Guestroom
Received: King City View Guestroom

Early checkin.
No turndown received last night.

A card was slipped under the door congratulating me on my "10th milestone stay". Odd.
Breakfast in the restaurant this morning with no charge for cappuccino.

Milestone stay and they still put a Diamond in a Guestroom  Were they fully booked?

Is it actually your 10th stay? If so, pretty poor treatment not to get the card organised and a wine delivered on time.

Nor a decent upgrade.

Having said that, I think it depends a lot on check in time. A number of times I've checked in early at various Hiltons and the welcome amenity has not been in the room, but what can we expect when check in is officially around 3pm.........I've appreciated the early check in far more than the welcome amenity! :p

19 Dec
Booked: Guestroom
Received: Yarra Suite, no early check in as room not ready but late 3:00pm check out
Considering I paid only $230 I couldn't be happier. +1 very impressed too.

Property: Waldorf Astoria Shanghai
Room booked: Base room
Rate: Used reward certificate
Received: King Junior suite (around $900 on hilton and around $600 on ctrip)
Status: Diamond
Duration: 1 night

Booked stating kids were with me and was pleasantly surprised they provided a fisher price toy and 2 dvds as well as chocolates (christmas themed) and a fruit bowl.
The room overlooked the bund (1509) which looked fantastic at night. Loved the electric toilet, checked online and it costs around $12k (if i got the model right). Much much better than conrad singapore (probably won't stay there next time).
The free breakfast was good, as you could also order from a menu. Waffles was much better than Oscars. They had like 6 or 8 real christmas trees in the hotel and it smelt really good.

Would stay again.

Disliked: Shower did not drain well either due to the level on the floor or poor drainage design which resulted in water going out. Also the grout in the shower had areas where it was black.

Booked: King Hilton room
Received: Sat: King Exec room, Sun: Relaxation Suite

Two bottles of water for both rooms, no welcome note.

100% full on Saturday night so happy with the 15th floor. I arrived after drinks had finished and left before breakfast the next morning. They did get me a takeaway coffee.

I was advised that I had been upgraded on Sunday night, so I packed my things and they were in the new room when I got in mid afternoon. I made up for missing out on drinks the night before. A good selection of food in the lounge, but once the cold items were gone they were not replaced which I felt was a bit poor. I tried two times to get a tall g&t without success. I must ask straitman how he does it!

There was a wait for a table for breakfast (but not too long) and they have noticed this occurring more often since they renovated the breakfast area. I enjoyed eggs Florentine cooked to order, and no coffee tax either morning.

Yes they were fully booked on the Saturday night. I was upgraded to a city view room.

I'm not too sure if it was my 10th stay (could well have been) - that is what the card says.
I really did wonder why they bothered. Wine would have been nice.

I got a nice half-bottle and card on my 10th. Full bottle with no card on my 11th!

Staying at HSW tonight, upgrade to King Exec as lowly gold. Never had anything better even as a diamond.

At least the wife is happy there is doughnuts in the exec lounge.

Edit: suites available to be booked so hotel is hardly full.

Since you're reasonably new at this married caper, I'll let you in on a little bloke secret........women are a funny bunch. They often don't appreciate hubby telling the world that they're chowing down on doughnuts. They far prefer to do so behind a veil of anonymity!

Haha she knows what I write and had a good laugh!...and then realised the other 10 people in the lounge ate the rest of the doughnuts!

Property: Auckland
Date: 2 nights (Tue/Wed) December 2015
Status: Diamond
Booked: King deluxe harbour view room
Received: Same as booked.

Good stay as usual. Late arrival. Online check-in for OK room. Hotel fully booked and confirmed no chance of upgrade on arrival.
Received good bottle of wine in the room given no upgrade. Plus a massive cruise ship was berthing right next door at 5am.. Was expecting it but still a shock the next morning!
Two big waters in room, replenished with turn down the next day. Free wi-fi and full breakfast with great staff as always. No coffee charge (for anyone).
4 drink vouchers, used on my 2nd night. Most of the bar staff happy to give me any drink I wanted (coughtail or best wines). One lady was a stickler for the (unwritten?) rules and cheaper stuff. Guess which ones were tipped?!

Hilton south wharf, Melbourne Melbourne.

Just checked in, booked king room, received king executive with a fantastic view that made hubby very happy.

No one at the front when we arrived to arrange valet parking/drop off keys, big queue to check in, no Diamond desk to check in, no mention of benefits (water, WiFi ect but being Diamond I guess we're suppose to know those things).

Going to hit the lounge soon. Lots of people here for the $250pp buffet Christmas lunch.

Also at the Hilton South Wharf, no room in the restaurant tonight fully booked, so in the lounge filling up and ordering room service

There was no mention of benefits or welcome etc as a gold yesterday.

Had breakfast in the restaurant this morning, everyone was vet friendly considering they were working on s Christmas Day.

We just left the lounge, hubby did his best with the prawns and we're also thinking room service but we're heading out soon so hubby can take some sunset photos.

Just had turn down service at our door with a welcome card for being a honours member. Hubby took the Lindt chocolates but said no thank too for the turn down. Oh and water was delivered shortly after check in.

View from our room.
