How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Stayed at the Hilton Perth for one night for my Birthday, my 6 month old son didn't enjoy it :(

Property: Hilton Parmelia Perth
Date: 14 Jan 1 night
Status: Diamond
Booked: Base Room (Queen Hilton)
Rate: Sale fare $90.40
Received: Queen Hilton Deluxe Plus (+3 Categories I think)
Breakfast: Buffet served in the Swan Room (Adelphi was closed, damn normally would have got free drinks and canapés!)

Another stay at H SYD before I lose Diamond

Date - 15 Jan 2017
Status - Diamond
Booked - Base Guestroom Plus
Received - Deluxe Plus. Lev 40 with half bottle of wine
Rate - $169 APAC 40℅ off sale

Given the room that the app upgraded me too on the morning of stay. Checked in at lounge - softly suggested hotel didn't appear that full but got nowhere. No welcome letter.

Entered room. Turned on TV and some server error 003, so called Magic and went out.
Lounge was packed at 6pm, but ok by 7pm.
Some whole prawns not shelled were offered but decidedly frozen. Also some veg pizza and some ginger prawn wonton and crumbed fish.
As usual plenty of dipala, but no crackers, save for the cheese board stuff.

All alcohol now from the bar staff, so no beer out like previous stays, was a bit of a queue at the bar early on even with two people serving

Settled myself round the corner where I could watch the news then the cricket

Should add that glass is currently closed for lunch and dinner, still open for breafast

And do we assume from that post, that the next door neighbours also didn't enjoy it? ;)

I must have missed the post about you having a new addition. A belated congratulations on your sons birth!
(I guess unless he was exceptionally premmie, he wasn't your last years birthday present )

Two separate stays last week:

1st stay: King Guestroom ---> Relaxation Suite.
2nd stay: King Guestroom ---> Yarra Suite.

Hotel was busy with holidaying families (it's that time of the year) so felt lucky with upgrades assuming suites were in high demand.

obviously HSW

I have them in the opposite order boomy - just checked in and told them (and showed screenshots) of my attempts over an 8 hour period to check-in yesterday using both the App and website. They are rushing the cleaning of my Yarra Suite for tonight and pre-assigned a Relaxation Suite for my 2 night stay later this week. Diamond does work sometime (plus my stay history).

Glad to read they treat you nicely in Melbourne :)

Stayed as a Diamond

Property: Hilton Cairns
Date: 9th Jan 1 night

Booked: Guestroom
Received: Room 939 Exec Room water side

Property: DoubleTree Cairns
Date: 10th Jan 1 night
Rate: $137 prepaid sale
Booked: King Deluxe w/water view & balcony
Received: 623 King Deluxe w/water view & balcony
No upgrade.HH floor rooms now have a coffee machine in each room with 2 pods. Breakfast was not good and was surprised they could not make porridge, it was just heated up whole oats. Definatley not as good as my last stay 2 years ago.Wifi was beyond slow and would time out a few times, not sure how they call it premium.

Property: Hilton Cairns
Date:11th + 12th Jan 2 nights
Rate: $131 + $137 prepaid sale
Booked: Guestroom
Received: Room 936 Exec Room water side
Door would not lock properly and required the door to be slammed shut to free the mechanism that would jam inside the lock.Unfortunatley it was never fixed and was unlocked the entire day we where out due to house keeping not checking the door after cleaning. Coffee machine was also broken with the usual bent handle.

Our stays overlapped. I arrived on Saturday 14th and am still here. The lounge was bedlam on the weekend but now, with no cruise passengers and light business trade, it is a lot more pleasant. When it is so quiet I prefer the breakfasts in the lounge to Glass. We've had a number of service issues - various room lights needing new globes and not replaced after a request, sporadic room servicing etc. The place has deteriorated in standard over the last few years but, for an early booker like me, rates remain reasonably good value. ps the prawns are still coming out frozen! :)

Property: Hilton Melbourne South Wharf
Date: 17 Jan
Status: Diamond
Booked: King Hilton X 2
Rate: $246 IIRC
Received: Yarra Suite (an 01 room) and a City View 2 BR apartment. (We have 3 adults and 3 kids)

Very happy as the hotel is fully booked. Initially told that all they could offer was 2 X King Hilton and a pullout bed each. With help from the 'right' person at the checkin it all worked perfectly.

Now all we need is Princess Cruises to UG us tomorrow and we will be exceptionally happy.

HSW keeps coming through for diamonds, hat off to them.

now if only all hotels looked after their top tier customers like this.

Have taken a 2 bedroom suite at HSW for those not being upgraded. Paid for it - not upgraded but used 3 * $150 AMEX and use if an award night to make it very reasonable. The family deal saw the kids go to the Polly Woodside and had a blast whilst Aust Open for me.

I suppose someone has to get a decent upgrade.

Hydrabyss,
Did you have to ask for it or was that auto allocated?

It was allocated before arrival in the system although I did ask for a higher floor at checkin. Staying regularly has made a huge difference but there will come a time when my luck will run.
