How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Property: Conrad Singapore
Booked: Deluxe Twin Room
Rate: 60k points (3 nights stay)
Received: Centennial Twin Suite

Booked last minute for the F1 Grand Prix weekend and was very lucky to find base room on points when Deluxe room rate was $700 SGD! Not only that but also my first ever suite upgrade at this property and they it was awesome could offer twin bed suite as well.

Overall it was super fun weekend, my mate and myself came specifically for the Grand Prix, Conrad was great location for that short walk to the gates. Since Hilton sponsors McLaren their crew stayed at Conrad and managed to score passes to the official F1 after party but that’s a story for another thread ;)

Property: Garden Inn Singapore
Booked: Twin Guest Room
Rate: 30k points (1 night stay)
Received: Twin Deluxe with Balcony

Nice modern hotel located in little India just behind the main temple. I believe we got the best upgrade possible considering that we needed twin beds, top floor corner room with balcony and nice view to busy Serangoon Rd which was beautifully lighten for some Indian festival.

Didn’t try the breakfast or any of other facilities.
Overall it was convenient and decent value for short stay.
We have stayed at this property a few times and have no issues there or with the location. Close to our 2 favourite Indian restaurants.

Property: Hilton Adelaide
Booked: King Guest Room
Received: King Executive Room
Status: Gold
Rate: $130/ night x 4 nights
Upgraded to an executive room. Early check in. Two bottles of water (Tap water is fine so I left those). The lounge had some nice local beers, but the food was a bit lacklustre. I really enjoyed my stay.

Property: Doubletree Wellington
Booked: twin guest Room
Received: Two queen deluxe Room
Status: Gold
Rate: NZD 170/ night x 3
We were upgraded to a double queen room. It was my birthday and they hand delivered a hand written card and some local Wellington chocolate to my door. It’s a fairly new hotel and I think the staff are still learning the ropes. They were very friendly though and I’ve never met more chipper cleaning staff. The breakfast was better than Adelaide, but the coffee was just as terrible. I think if I stay again I’ll take the points instead of breakfast because there are some terrific cafes nearby that I wanted to try.

Which sign do I believe in
Take anything of this tray and we charge or the 2 free bottles of water which I cannot find anywhere else in the room.

I'm Diamond so I drank the two bottles of water and got charged for them. At checkout I told them to take them off the bill. A week later and extra charge on my bill so had to ring again. I wasn't impressed with the service as a Diamond

Property: Doubletree Northbridge Perth
Booked: Standard King
When: Mid-October 2019
Rate: Bit over $100
Received: King Executive Panoramic room 14th floor.
Status: Diamond
Benefits: pre-arrival text; lounge access, breakfast in restaurant, two 400ml (ish) waters in room, warm cookie. Two small chocolates in a box plus welcome back note as the amenity.

Did online check-in. Not many rooms available. On receipt of text I asked for a corner room if possible (to be away from the noisy lift area) and it was instantly agreed. Hopefully I didn’t bump anyone. Sought a 4pm checkout on arrival as per previous stays. Initially granted 3pm but extended to 4pm on request next morning. Lounge access available post checkout.

Pretty consistent with previous stays. Except Exec Lounge evening service has been wound back from 3 hours to 2, which is a shame. Fortunately lounge quiet. Welcome amenity also a bit less than before.

A very decent hotel.

Property: Hilton Vilamoura
Booked: King Deluxe Room
Received: King Suite with Pool View

Nice upgrade to a suite that is basically two standard interconnecting rooms, one converted to living room. Both rooms had identical baths, showers and balconies as well.

The resort is huge with multiple swimming pools and the largest spa in Portugal which was the main reason for leaving the Conrad to stay here one night (free access to Gold/Diamond). The spa was great and since it’s the start of low season it wasn’t crowded either. We scored one of the private cabanas and spent most of the day there.

We didn’t eat dinner nor breakfast as we had to leave early in the hotel but they were nice to prepare coffee and sandwiches to go.

Overall nice property, especially at this time of the year when it’s not busy. I assume during summer months this resort will be swamped with families.

Property: Conrad Algarve
Booked: King Deluxe Room
Received: King Suite with Pool View

Fantastic resort! everything is top notch, the decor, service, food... can’t fault anything. We were very lucky to score a beautiful suite even tho the property was over 85% full with mostly posh Brits, all well dressed and very well behaved. No bogans at this time of the year fortunately.
The VIP service starts from arrival with complementary valet parking, check in while sitting with a glass of cold water, very civilised.

The list of diamond benefits is quite impressive:

Bottle of wine in the room.
Bottle of wine in the restaurant.
Complementary entrance to the spa.
coughtail experience in the bar where guests get to design and name their own unique coughtail.

During our 4 night stay we tried breakfast, lunch and dinner. Buffet breakfast was a-la-carte plus buffet with table service. Good verity and high quality. Food at lunch and dinner was a step above most hotel restaurants and the price on par with restaurants in the area, we were impressed.

As I said everything was perfect, well almost. One negative I must mention was the water temperature in the outdoor pools, it was cold. The only heated outdoor pool was in the spa where most guests must pay to access. It seemed odd not to heat at least the main pool in this luxury resort. Nevertheless it’s a minor negative in one of the better resorts we’ve experienced as part of the HH group.

Some photos of the room and view from balcony.

Property: Hilton Cairns
Date: October 2019 -- 2 nights
Status: Diamond
Booked: Spa room
Received: Spa room.
Benefits: Two waters (not replenished), chocolate macadamias handed to me on check-in. No turndown service and no newspaper. Full breakfast, but with coffee charge applicable and pretty indifferent service. Lounge access.

Disappointing stay at a favourite hotel. Dumbing down of services. Upgrade requested in advance and at check-in and despite both the spa exec suite and room 930 being available was told without any checking that no, hotel full. Blatant lie by Yuko at front desk. The first poor (albeit I reckon unintentionally) staff member I've encountered here. (She also sent me a text 3 hours after I'd checked out asking me how I had settled in to the hotel and could anything be done for me).

Room service good. Mondos now the provider all day. Lounge with Naoki and Gemma in the evening good as usual with some nice food (although soup in Cairns in October an odd item). Anne great as always in the morning.

Housekeeping disappointing with room not serviced until late afternoon and several items taken away and not replaced (towels, glasses, toiletries) which required calls to rectify.

Rooms really need a refurb. Hotel is tired and old. Staff themselves hoping for a major refresh.

Despite my strong loyalty to the hotel and staff - not sure I will stay here next visit.

Property: Millenium Hilton, Bangkok.
Dates: October, 2 nights.
Booked room: Twin Premium room
Received: Twin Premium
Status: Gold
Received: two waters a day (in recycled bottles, which was a nice change!); breakfast.

This was the first Hilton property where I’ve never had an upgrade. I know it’s only where available, but when I asked if one was available, they responded “we will give you breakfast instead”, as if breakfast was not included in the gold benefits already.
We arrived early, but they didn’t have the room available until 3pm. They did let us have an early check out at 1pm though.
When we arrived, we left our luggage with the concierge out the front, and when they brought it up to our room, one piece was missing. Now we knew it was with the rest of the luggage because we physically left it there and also saw it in the pile as we returned to the hotel for our 3pm check in. When they brought up the missing piece 5 minutes later they said “you left it in the lobby”. We hadn’t even been sitting in the lobby. It’s one thing to leave a piece of luggage behind, it’s quite another to lie about it and blame the guest. I don’t appreciate being gaslighted. When I mentioned it to the reception staff on check out, she wasn’t interested. I won’t be staying there again. If you do stay at this hotel, bear in mind that their luggage store is outside in the heat. It’s not particularly secure either.

The newly renovated relaxation room at HSYD is a total transformation and aesthetically beautiful. It now has separate living room and bedroom. Very clever use of space. No change to the bathroom which is absolutely fine in my view as the high pressure shower is my favourite.

That couch looks so much better than the former uncomfortable rounded couch!

I find it strange to go from an open plan to a separate room layout. Not sure if I would have incorporated the dividing wall into the new layout. It may now make the elevator noise less noticeable though. I may have to make a booking and see if I can try one out.

Further updates, I spoke too soon, my favourite pressure shower is no longer, replaced by low pressure rain shower similar to the ones in the king suite. 😭
Other than that, everything else is a huge improvement and oh, did I mention the room has 3 TVs? A smart TV 65" in the living room, smart TV 55" in the bedroom and that little TV in the bathroom that loves to turn on at every opportunity (even when not intended). I just saw pics of the new king suite and can't wait to try that but next on the list (hopefully) would be the relaxation suite.

The leather chaise lounge is the best thing ever and with the large 65" smart TV, you could watch movies from your phone/tablet.

@hydrabyss, I don't know what they have done to the walls but there's absolutely no whooshing noise coming from the lifts or maybe they are not putting many people on this level yet as it is brand new so the lift rarely comes up, who knows.

I didn't mind the noise as it helped block out the constant ringing in my ears. So maybe the added wall in the middle helped absorb it or they have added some sound deadening to the wall.
You haven't shown a photo of how the bathroom looks from the room.
