How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Anat0l, can you please confirm that your MVP fast track worked at properties outside the US. The MVP website says the promotion is only valid at US Hiltons.
The main issue with MVP is finding the rates outside of North America.

Property: Hilton Melbourne South Wharf
Room Booked: Wotif Mystery Hotel Deal
Duration: 1 night
Rate: AUD 160
Status: HH Gold

Gave my gold # at checkin, was welcomed back (5 stays there so far this year), upgraded to an executive room with exec floor access. Desk staff apologised for no welcome card but within 20 minutes of checkin free waters were delivered to my room and the GM called me to welcome me back to the hotel.

I've been enjoying staying at South Wharf.

Property: Hilton on the Park Melbourne
Room Booked: 1 x King Deluxe; 1 x Twin Deluxe
Duration: 2 nights
Rate: $169 per room, per night. This was the $99 rate card offer that wasn't available; $169 was the next best.
Status: HH Diamond

I was extremely sceptical about having the $99 rate card honoured not just for one more than one night but for more than one room. To my surprise (and delight), it was a double win: honoured for both two nights and for two rooms. Additionally, we were upgraded to the executive floor with an interconnecting room. Somehow, though, we managed to get two kings rather than one and one twin so I ordered a rollaway. I was told it would be ~$60 a night for the rollaway. A few minutes after getting of the phone with the front desk the duty manager phoned and said the rollaway would be complimentary, as would full breakfast for all four of us in the restaurant on both mornings. Wow. The Diamond privilleges (eg. lounge access) were also extended to the second room so in all I was extremely well looked after. The only disappointment was wireless internet is not free in the lounge and there's only one computer that doesn't have direct printing capabilities (you have to load files onto a USB and then the lounge staff print it for you.

That would get you HHonors Silver. (requires 4 Stays / 10 nights)

However, have you enrolled in the MVP program? Four Hilton stays or 9 nights to Gold Status! - your itinerary should romp it in.

More here:
Gold bennies: http://hhonors1.hilton.com/en_US/hh/about/gold.do

(Free in room internet, choice of 1)upgrade to exec level and/or breakfast or 2)1000 HHonors points per stay).

I just signed up to MVP but didn't realize you had to book special rates to qualify? Thought it was any stay at any Hilton booked thru their website...?

It is any stay - as long as it is eligible for a 'stay' or 'night' credit; the special rate is a bonus that may be available if you are travelling in North America, it does not have to be booked using it.

An excellent outcome Ms Wilson :!:

Now to see what they do for me on the 24th coming back from Brisbane.

Gee thanks Grandpa :D ;)

I'll have to find out why they are calling me that - not the first time. Yes, my name in USA is more likely to be female, but we are in Australia and my middle name should certainly make most people think I am male :D

At that egregiously expensive rate you booked it you probably deserve the upgrade and all the bric-a-brac that came with it:!:

Except the sex change, of course.
