How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Property: Conrad Bali
Status: Diamond
Stay: 25/2-1/3
Booked: Base Room 3 adults
Received: 2nd floor Conrad Suite!
Rate: 40k points p.n. (= 50k p.p.n. 5th night free)

I'll write a little trip report under the Conrad Bali thread.

Still trying to figure out if Conrad suites upgrades get the free laundry or not (normal Conrad suites benefit). I note you said you paid for it.

I haven't tried because I prefer the top floor suites with private plunge pool overlooking the ocean, so I forgo being close to the lounge.

You got plunge pool suite as an upgrade from base room or did you book higher category?
I'm asking because I've enquired about those suites at reception and was told can only upgrade for extra pay ($250 per night iirc).

Hi Cynicor! No free laundry when it's an upgrade, but you do get 15% off an already cheap price. It's a very handy benefit as nothing dries in the humidity. We opted for non-ironed (half-price) and everything was nice and flat anyway. Used the concierge app for pickup.

Forgot to mention the excellent coffee and divine pastries (so flaky and light!) in the TR. Also forgot to mention the disappointing lack of recycling throughout (yes, no real public infrastructure for this in Bali, but there are private companies) and also seeing a staff member sweep up the beach rubbish at sunrise ...then bury it (plastic and all) just under the sand :(

Property : H SYD
Status: Diamond
Room Booked: King Deluxe Plus
Room Received: King Relaxation Suite.

Suite luck continues at H SYD, 11/11 this year. I must say that from the above comments re: HSYD I think the hotel may be suffering an elite overload, potentially from the recent status matches. Despite being way below capacity tonight (rooms starting at Base rate of $195 for the last fortnight)
When I checked in at the front desk, I was next to another Diamond and one gold. Interesting to hear that the gold member was being denied exec lounge access, which never happened to me while many stays here as a gold member...Actually I wasn't denied access as a gold at any AU Hilton. New SYD policies again?

I suspect it has much to do with your individual loyalty to that hotel as your Diamond status.

A Diamond with 10+ stays at that property is viewed more highly than a regular Diamond

Some oldies from last year's big US family trip:

Status: Gold

Sept 2015
Property: Hampton Inn, Charleston Historic District
Room Booked: 1 x King Bed room, 1 x Twin Queen room
Room Received: 1 x King Bed room, 1 x Twin Double room

2 nights @ $USD217.55 pn, 2 nts @ $USD284.05 pn (we were there the weekend of the Charleston Highland something something)
Breakfast, internet included. Decent rooms. Good location. Little Miss enjoyed the pool.

Property: Double Tree Club by Hilton, Boston Bayside
Room Booked: Two Double bed room, USD $217.55/nt - 2 nights
Room Received: Two double bed room, on HH floor - hotel is not that high.
Views of a car park and some bay in the distance.
No cookie on arrival. :(
Limited restaurants around, ~20min train ride into the Boston action - explains why the rate was cheaper than downtown!! Close to the JFK Presidential library might be a bonus for some. Very dated feeling hotel. Had a free shuttle bus to and from Logan, which was a bonus!
Was given vouchers for pre-order, pickup snack breakfast. Talked my way into 3/morning. :D

Sept still
Property: Waldorf Astoria, NYC
Room Booked: 2 x Superior King Bed rooms, 80k points/night - 2 nights
Room Received: 2 x Superior King Bed rooms - adjoining
Arrived last night of UN week. o_0 Airport-like security on entry, and quite a queue for checkin.
Received drinks vouchers (didn't use :(), and a few other things.

Oct 2015
Property: Millenium Hilton
Room booked: 2 x King Bed rooms - 3 nts - $246/room/night
Room received: 1 x King, 1 x Twin Double or Queens (changed at check in, as Little Miss's godmother didnt want to share a bed with her after the Waldorf). Twin room was an extra $20/night.

Free internet. No breakfast; when I queried it, was told that it's normally for two people, not four.
Great spot for Century 21, WTC. We had lovely views over the WTC area from our room.

Actually they don't. I did get club access from a meet up in Brisbane and then I accompanied a single lady as a guest. With breakfast at $38 that saved me a bunch. Then the 4 nights pay for 3 got me zero loyalty brownie points as I used Citi Prestige and the hotels.com link.
A special thanks to the two young ladies who helped me.

Found this waiting for me last night at Conrad St James. Guess they ran out of chocolates for the turn down
Now that would have to be the best laugh I had in a while? Is there any other story you need to share with the group? ;)

At least that is if that's what I think it is!

EDIT....yep, just saw the bigger pic........it is what I thought it was!

How would you rate this WA compared to other similar category hotels in NYC?

I've made Flexi booking for 5 nights stay there later this year and since read so many mixed reviews about this property.
I understand it's not as fancy as WA Shanghai or Jerusalem but was wondering how it rates compared to USA standards.

I'll be checking into the Conrad DXB tonight. Wonder if my onQ profile has been updated with my requirements?
