Property: Mercure Brisbane King George Square

Room booked: Deluxe Corner Room, 1 Bed
Room upgraded/type: Yes, upgrade to top floor
Rate: Accor Plus Flexible Rate - Complimentary breakfast - ($260.10/night)
Free internet: Yes
Early check in/late out: N/A
Welcome drink: Flat white for breakfast
Welcome gift: Two bottles of water and a fruit platter for Tony (not my name)
QF flight back to Sydney was cancelled yesterday night (Dec 1) and ended up having to find a hotel at the last minute (i.e. 9:15 PM). All hotels near the airport were booked out solid so ended up booking a hotel in the Centreville. Check-in was prompt as an Accor+Platinum (despite the many queueing in line given they were in the same situation as I) and I was even given two drink vouchers without even asking. I was "upgraded" to the top floor albeit I suspect the room type was the same as booked.
Hotel itself is decent: there is a restaurant, cafe and bar on premise, a pool at the top (along with a gymnasium - whatever those are). Rooms were somewhat modern and spacious, although the kettle would not stay on, on its own requiring me to hold the button down until I heard the water boil over. Only downsides I could see of the room are the lack of Nespresso machine, the inclusion of a shub and no USB-C charge points.
Tony's welcome gift (my name ain't Tony but I'll take it):
Breakfast was the usual Accor buffet style at the restaurant although you could request omelettes to be made fresh to order too:
