just out of interest blackcat20. what price did they match you the $89 or the $69. My agent clearly wasn't looking at what she was doing and price matched the 69. ;) one very happy camper here!

$85. But I'm happy with that.

Yeah I would of been happy with it too! Anything is better than $429 or worst - not being on it!

Now we only have to work out what we are going to do on the layover. Assuming we somehow don't all manage to score an invite to any celebrations on the ground in OOL. (Maybe RedRoo could be as generous as to pointing us in the direction of someone at JQ we could hit up.)

From about 12% loaded to sold out at midnight last night wow. Who on earth will my seat mate be? Today Tonight or A current affair?

Hopefully not! With any luck it will be a fellow AFFer/important person and Today tonight and ACA "journalists" don't count as important people :p

The reason the OOL - MEL $ 429 seats ( JQ435 OOL1530 – 1845MEL 787 3 ) are missing from the system is this :

Jetstar Dreamliner Flight 13 NOV from Gold Coast - Melbourne $429
HOWEVER
with Price Beat to Tiger Flight (within the same hour ) of $84.95
you end up paying ONLY ** $76.46 ** + no credit card booking fee.

Jetstar on FB said "Hello, That specific flight was never a Dreamliner service. Thank you - Kurt."

LIES LIES LIES!!!!....

Yeah the front is pretty much open except for 1A/C and 1J

I haven't booked just yet, sitting on the payment page thinking if I should bother

The return flight is $429!!!! :(

Burger me fresh in airport central do a mean burger! If you guys are heading over the road I may well be around, albeit on parenting duty!

Sounds like he's full of hot air. It certainly is a Dreamliner service.

Flight 1:
JQ 435Dreamliner
Departing:
15:30 PM, 13 Nov, 2013
Gold Coast Airport - T1 Domestic
Arrival:
18:45 PM, 13 Nov, 2013
Melbourne Airport - T1 Domestic

The plane may be different, but it's still Jetstar, for goodness sake. Airline of last resort ( Tiger being unimaginable.)
I have flown Tiger and will do so again! :p

Serious question - how many people who refuse to fly JQ have actually flown JQ before?
Have never flown Jetstar and have no interest in flying them unless I start dating an extremely attractive 22 year old Jetstar FA.

Fat chance of either happening but you never know your luck.

I always find it an interesting question. I found JQ not to be great on the ground (waiting for etickets, SC's etc), but they are fine in the air.
They do have there niche they serve, which is fine.

It was pulled off the GDS as of this afternoon. One could wonder if they had to sell so many seats to make it a commercial flight (E.G. They couldn't claim it was the first "revenue" service out of OOL if there was 2 paying pax on it and the rest were there on a freebie maybe 30 or so seats to make it 10% revenue vs 90% freebies/media) they subsequently reached that quota (mostly with us who did the price beat) and have now pulled it from existence as not to get the hopes of the uneducated punters up that they could of been flying on it.

Also after sending JQ a message on Facebook it seems that those who are booked both going up and coming back won't have to worry as to what we are doing on the layover if we make ourselves known to crews onboard -- when I asked if they meant the cabin crew the reply was met with - "anyone wearing Jetstar ID onboard the aircraft" they wouldn't tell me why but assured me I will be happy. Also advised me that celebrations will begin at 9am but I really should book a flight 3 hours prior to departure into MEL.

Sounds intriguing and exciting.

And as I guessed it reappeared today on their booking system! Instantly called up their price beat department and booked seats on the flight... they said it's only 30% booked at the moment!...

More like there are only 30 seats booked (or assigned as per the website) and not 30% of the plane! Can't get her up on Amadeus today!
