Re: How many Qantas points did you earn in 2015?

Churn and burn! I'm aiming for 12 card application bonuses in 2016. Already have 2 in play.

Are you keeping an eye on your credit score? I would have thought you would have obliterated your credit reputation after 6 CC applications in one year.

This doesnt include the 30k sitting in Aquire waiting to be moved across.

Earned about 200k with VA as well last year, so rather a good year for me.

Nope. Couldn't care less.

9 applications for new credit cards last year + refinancing a very substantial mortgage. Spoke with the bank at the time of refinancing and they said they don't care at all about the number of applications for credit cards - the only thing they care about is ability to repay outstanding debt.

2 applications made so far this year. Both instantly approved.

I admire your bravado (or recklessness, as some might say), but I thought different banks weight your individual credit patterns. Nevermind, best of luck to you and your pursuit for FF points.

I'll stop when I get a knock back. Until then, on with the quest for 12 application bonuses in 2016!

In any case I'm unlikely to need to worry about that in about 12 hours from now:

I think it shows that Veda and Experian scores are not the be-all and end-all of credit application.
If someone has significant assets and income, the banks are likely to take that into account (even if they don't give an instant computer-generated approval)

Re: How many Qantas points did you earn in 2015?

image.jpgA fairly typical year for me. Most of my earn is done through Velocity. Some serious numbers in this thread though.

Re: How many Qantas points did you earn in 2015?

Must be doing something wrong. Less than 50,000 for me :(

I still don't understand why people put that much emphasis on credit scores. Curiosity sure but that's all it does.

I have lost count of how many credit cards I've got and have only ever been rejected once. Trying hard to shed a few so I can start to churn a few sign on bonuses.

The number one tip I can give you is to go for credit card bonus offerings when you sign up for the first time. There's many examples to be found here:

Current Credit Card Promotions

Aim for a minimum of 4 applications each year. That should get you at least 200,000 points.

Re: How many Qantas points did you earn in 2015?

Being self funded and no new cards only racked up a mere 200K Q FF points approx.

Re: How many Qantas points did you earn in 2015?

Only made about 230K this year and redeemed about 1.02 million so balance looking a bit sad compared to what it was at the start of the year

Re: How many Qantas points did you earn in 2015?

Around 500,000 points in 2015. 450,000 of which came from credit cards (predominantly sign up offers - 9 in total).

Man, I am just not signing up to anywhere near enough cards, only about 3 or so for me, although some have been with Virgin this year....

Re: How many Qantas points did you earn in 2015?

Not enough...

CC is my big points earner.

Re: How many Qantas points did you earn in 2015?

I ruined a good year (;)) with QFF points at the end of November by crediting a 3K TPE-SIN flight to them that earned nearly 2900 QFF points. Otherwise I would have only earnt 56 QFF points from EDR. Oh well there's always next year, I have 18 months now before I need to earn any more points ....

Re: How many Qantas points did you earn in 2015?

24,780 from QF and QF flight numbers but with EK metal. Will try to keep more flying with QF than VA to come for sure this year. Will let myself drop to VA NR (no Red).
0 from credit cards.
587 from shopping which will be 0 this year.
690 from hotels.
2,046 from QCC.
3,300 from phones which will be 0 this year.
83 from other.

Re: How many Qantas points did you earn in 2015?

Sent cc points elsewhere this year so fairly minimal earns other than domestic flying.
