How to book Velocity Amex free flight?

Yeah I'm having the same issue, it wont give me the destinations I'm entitled to (and would actually like to book). So painful.

Holy moly the website is a mess. Through some miracle I got it to show me the valid destination and could see the flights that were available, but it well and truly pooped itself when I tried to book. So I had to call, and they do of course waive the phone fee. But it would be so much easier if it just worked.

Did they recently remove Newcastle from the list of departure airports? What a bummer.

I just went to cash in one of these and NTL does not show up anymore

It still shows up on the map:

From my post on the first page of this thread just try calling to make a booking out of NTL

So glad I documented this phone number back in 2021, it's come in very handy.

I called Amex and they said to call VA directly at the moment (direct to team that deals with Amex Comp flights): 1300 153 006
They answered immediately when I called on that number (after listening to the recording the website is not working!)

The search just doesnt show the correct cities at all. From MEL is lets me select PER, but not OOL or MCY which I'm actually entitled to.

Can confirm the website doesn't work properly as of last week. For the 2nd year now I've had to call through to redeem this benefit.

I'll be closing my card as the quality of the lounge in Perth is extremely inadequate and the redemption choices from Perth are very poor, especially given the choices offered to customers from Brisbane for example.

If VA added CKI/CCK/LEA/BME/KTA/PBO, I could certainly justify holding the card into the future.

It is such a clunky website. Why can't they just work out a way of doing it through the Velocity website.

I would've thought a promo code on the regular VA website would do the trick, surely the VFF member number and cardholder status in the background can all be linked up 🤷‍♂️
Would certainly ease the burden on the call room!

I noticed today that when on the Velocity site there is a callout to a new experience in the Benefits section:

It now lists the Amex comp flight and its expiry date

That then section then also lists the history of redemptions for the Amex comp flight going back years as well as having a link to the comp flight booking page.

Seems like progress! Even if I'm sure the booking process is still terrible.

Interesting, I can see it on mine too.

The portal still doesn't work for me no matter which platform I try on - Windows Chrome, MacOS Chrome, MacOS Safari, iOS Safari all return error.
