Hi All,

newbie to Hyatt program. Qantas Hotels have a pretty good deal on the Grand Hyatt in Melb at the moment.
What would be the best way to maximize my QFF points with this booking?
I will be using :
- Qantas hotel promo, 5k QFF points for bookings >$250.
- ANZ Black linked card to Qantas to pay (unforunately no AMEX option)
- 6 points per $1 offer at Qantas Hotels.
I read that you can earn QFF points instead of Hyatt points? Not too sure how this works
Any insights welcomed.
Thank you

Most hotel loyalty programs don’t award points or provide status benefits to stays booked via a 3rd party ie QF Hotels, Expedia, Booking.com etc etc.

There are some exceptions or “bank error in your favour” but I wouldn’t count on it.

If you don’t have status with a hotel chain and don’t intend to become a requal guest, then QF Hotels is a good option if the price is right.

If you book through Qantas Hotels you earn points through Qantas Hotels. It's not from the hotel.

Yes, that’s basically what I said. Specifically that you don’t earn Hyatt points since OP already knew about earning QF points.

Having read your Sofitel Breakfast thread @FF98 , in choosing where to stay are you looking at minimum spend for maximum QFF points?
minimum spend is $250 for the 5k QFF points so I will easily meet it. Just going through the options and seeing how I can maximize my points earnt whilst balancing value for money haha
