Need 1000 points before the end of this month.

I am sitting 905 points short of the 350k points for Points Club Plus requirement with 12 days to go. I thought I had it in the bag when sitting on 344k points and knowing I had 8k spend on my credit card sweeping around now. Unfortunately, a few refunds from hotels and taxes from flights has dropped my credit card balance just when the monthly statement balance swept through leaving me 905 points short.

So, I think my options are:
  1. Red Planet surveys that post overnight. Unlikely to get 1000 within the end of the month - possible a few but not enough.
  2. Terry White. I've received the 1k points for sign up, but have not done the 1k for spending $30. Plan on doing that tomorrow but terms say 45 days credit. A read of the thread shows mixed results on time to post.
  3. Purchase QFF points. 1000 points is $56. That seems instantaneous.
  4. Credit card spent won't work as won't be swept through until next month.
  5. Qantas Wine. I'm not really into those wines that qualify for 7 to 10k for a case and not sure how long it would take to post anyhow.
  6. Wellbeing rewards. Only get breadcrumbs which won't be enough.
  7. Sign up to Red Energy or QFF Health Insurance. Not really interested in either.

Anybody have any other ideas or insights onto fast posting of the above options. The Points Club Plus probably won't be really of much value in the next 12 months TBH so don't want to go out of my way too much. I'm thinking the Terry White would be the best bet followed by the purchase of points but even $56 to buy a measly points I'm not convinced is worth the benefit.

Cheers

To make it worse, I dropped from Gold to Silver last year, and as part of the re-qualification, I'm sitting on 690 SC, 10SC short of 700SC which will be wiped out end of month. I've factored in the 10SC from BP rewards link, so that is out and flying is not on (despite having to cancel a few work trips last month that would have had me there)..

Australia's highest-earning Velocity Frequent Flyer credit card: Offer expires: 21 Jan 2025
- Earn 60,000 bonus Velocity Points
- Get unlimited Virgin Australia Lounge access
- Enjoy a complimentary return Virgin Australia domestic flight each year

Can a family member transfer some to you - does that count?

Family transfers don't count towards Points Club level attainment unfortunately.

Do you, your close friends or family do a lot of driving? Send them a screenshot of your Qantas digital card barcode and tell them you'll give them $10 for every 100L they fill up at BP and scan your card - and there's your 10 SC for Qantas Gold for $100!

Can you
- Convert points from any hotel programs i.e. IHG?
- Earn bonus points for signing up for the first time ie Uber etc
- Do the Qantas Wellbeing App? Refer a few 'friends'?
- Buy something from the Qantas affiliate Mall - possibly something from somewhere with a flexible returns policy?
- Do one of the card offers - ie instore Grilld' offer for 400 points?
- Convert Woolworths Points?

Some good suggestions here

- Convert points from any hotel programs i.e. IHG?
I have quite a decent stash of Hyatt points I was saving. 5000 points gives 2400 QFF points, so there is an option. Shame 5k is the minimum amount that can be transferred
- Earn bonus points for signing up for the first time ie Uber etc
That has been done.
- Do the Qantas Wellbeing App? Refer a few 'friends'?
That has been done (the sign up and using), but the referral where you get 150 points is an option. I need to come up with 6 friends that I haven't done before..
- Buy something from the Qantas affiliate Mall - possibly something from somewhere with a flexible returns policy?
That sounds a little hard
- Do one of the card offers - ie instore Grilld' offer for 400 points?
Didn't know that one, but maybe hard going in store to Grill'd at the moment. Will look it up though
- Convert Woolworths Points?
Sadly only have 76 WOW points, and with bugger all offers coming from them at the moment I'm anchored there - that ordinarily would be the easiest way jumping on a BWS or the like offer.

That is a good suggestion, but not a lot of driving within my family and friends so would have to reach out to people not know. That would seem awkward.

Terry White posted within 2 days for me after the $30 spend

Qantas Wines points generally post within 1.5 business days - the delivery can take longer.

BP Reward bonus and a Red Planet Survey has me down to 705 rewards. Can hassle some friends (although prefer not) to get some more. Did a $30 purchase at Terry White, so hopefully that comes through.

So another option with Qantas wines (not that really into them), but if I went for some cheeses, oil or something like that which earn around 300 to 500 points, instead of paying with cash, use the option of paying with points, would you still earn the bonus points? Website doesn't provide that detail.

I think everything has been covered, but you could pray for something like this to return:

I think there’s also a car insurance offer. I did the health one and am happy with the cover and cost.

I find the purchases from wine take at the minimum four days now. My last two purchases was 5 days as per below then another three purchases before that, all this year, took 4 days. If you can't wait and need them now, you will probably have to pay for them which is instant, however it looks like you have 8 days up your sleeve still which means you can try the other methods and wait to buy point on the last day if it doesn't work out.

Take up the fee free Qantas card in my referral. Amex QANTAS Discovery Card - No Annual Fee - 10,000 bonus points
On 2nd thoughts the points probably wont transfer to your account in time.
Maybe go with the Qantas wine purchase suggestion instead.

Hi,
Go for the Qantas Wine club, by far the easiest quickest and cheapest way to get points .
I don't drink wine, I give it away to my friends , take it when I go to their place for dinner. :)

I'd definately have gone down the Qantas Wine path, and for a few hundred dollars spend would have Christmas covered for several friends/relatives.

Late to the party but you could sign up to Kayo, 1100 points on sign up and they posted to my account the next day, watch some replays of classic footy matches or grand finals... table tennis world championships... yeah not a lot of live sports around
