I hate pin codes on phones.

This gives me more grief than you could believe everyday.

Well I learnt something new today. But disabled for 4221 days?

We'll be up to iPhone15 by then and her 3 will be considered a brick, assuming it still works

No, I didn't go - instead deleted almost every App and it seems to be working again - emails are back online. No FB though :o

Lots of photos to review, then delete those that I don't need and hope that I can get it working fully again

Most painful way of having to do it.

My recommendation would be to back up every photo to your computer, ensuring that it is on your computer and you have a copy of every photo. Then, delete all photos off your iPhone (viz. configure your iTunes sync settings to not sync photos, which should delete every photo off the iPhone).

Then, reorganise your photos how you like it, then once you've defined what you want on the iPhone, turn sync photos back on to transfer only what you want.

This is a coughbersome and longer method, but it will be a lot cleaner. Also, whilst you sort your photos you'll have plenty of space on your iPhone to maneuver.

This is a bit of guessing since I don't know how Picasa interacts with iTunes to sync photos to iDevices.
