IC Ambassador worth it?

Just received a 'clarification' email from Sydney IC ...

Wanted to use a PP 2 for 1 voucher on a Club Access room ...

Even booking and paying for a Club Access room, will NOT get you access to the Club Lounge WHEN using a PP 2 for 1 voucher !

I have been advised, that their position on PP 2 for 1 vouchers for the remaining period of validity, is:

Use the voucher to obtain a 'non-Club' room.
You will receive the second night free.
You need to pay $165. PER DAY, in order to receive Club Access.

That means, a $400. room will cost you $400. for the TWO NIGHTS, and you will need to pay $330. for two days of Club Access - total of $730. for a two night stay, with Club Lounge Access ...

Again - most confusing system in existence - guess I will just have to give Grace the loyalty manager at IC NKG the Salvatore Farragamo amenity kit from SQ F as a 'hello again' gift when I check in next week and hope that gets me lounge access for future visits.

While it is invitation only, the do publish a basic set of criteria: member-terms | IHG

Wondering if it is worth a mattress run. Only a few nights short of 60, but it is worded so that it doesn't sound like it is guaranteed.

I think it was food and beverage. Also AMEA refers to Asia, Middle East & Africa.

I was pleasantly surprised today, received new ambassador filo (only took 7 weeks) 10,000 bonus points, only thought you received 5,000 bonus points, maybe there're feeling generous this year. Well done IHG

Dud program IMHO. IC in a certain Chinese city just would not give me Lounge access no matter how much I pleaded, grovelled and begged - said I need to book Club Level Room

Bah humbug - so previous visit I took an SQ Salvatore Farragamo female amenity kit and put it in envelope addressed to in-house loyalty manager that I had been corresponding with and who previously was just not going to give me lounge access - next visit voila - said loyalty manager greeted me at check-in and gave me lounge access for afternoon tea and happy hour each night I was there!

Note: Please don't anybody tell boomy this - I hate seeing grown men cry!

Don't think there is too much dud when you score fifty odd free nights a year, two on NYE

It does once you get RA and you need to be an ambassador to get that status.

Just to note, from FT, to get RA also requires: 60 qualifying IHG nights including 20 IC nights, minimum 3 different IC properties.

So 2 months/year in IHG properties of which nearly a month is in ICs. But it can be less.

I took this offer ( paid by QANTAS Cash Card - total = $AU257. with conversion & fee )

I've currently got some 220,000 points of Reward Bookings coming up in April / May.

So, for my additional $US50. I'll ( hopefully ) wind up with an additional 27,000 points !!

I have a week-long stay coming up at IC Singapore. Do you all think Ambassador is still worth joining? I used to be IHG Gold, but haven't stayed at IHG properties for a while.
Do you still get IHG Gold as part of Ambassador? I can't see it listed on the Ambassador site.
The free night could be of use later in the year.
