Is there a specific property and dates that you are looking at?

Only as dummy bookings. I’ve tried 3 properties we might stay at - Indigo in Adelaide, Crowne Plaza Sydney and Crowne Plaza Coogee. Chose dates with lowest rates, for eg 10-11 October in Sydney. But for every enquiry can only see standard rooms available for points or points plus pay.

Oh, that reminds me to make a decision to renew or not….before the price goes up.

I decided to sign up and beat the price rise. Followed the link from my email “special invitation”, logged into IHG account, and the whole process took 2 minutes. 2 minutes later I had my ambassador welcome email and IHG updated to platinum.

Likely targeted. I have only got an email on the Adelaide Fringe festival today. No point giving it to diamonds really from IHG's point of view.

Yes, quite likely. I dropped back to Gold this year - so far.

After dropping to Platinum last year and then Gold this year I have been using up my IHG points as travel plans for 2025 have very few opportunities to earn IHG nights and so I expect to start 2026 as silver.

Weird thing I observed when checking some rates. If i pay all money its $282/night



Same room if I use points + pay has higher cash rate at $288 than not using any points.



So basically using 5k points/night costs you $6/night. Obviously if burn more points start to genuinely save some $. Must be a mistake no?

That’s IHG for you. Status members often are offered less attractive rates in my experience.

IHG launched their bonus nights today. Upto 10 bonus nights. Bonvoy is up 77 nights. I'm not platinum IHG anymore. One of the many reasons.

I got all excited when I saw this because I will have nearly two weeks in an IHG hotel and then saw it had to be before the 20th March and I don't start until the 16th March
