IHG One Rewards Discussion

I got through to the 1800 097 697 number a few weeks ago. Short wait

Thanks oz_mark and andye - I tried the 1800 number several times but it kept disconnecting. I’ll try the email tomorrow.

After 12 nights in bali - Holiday Inn Sanur - 9 of which I spent battling and recovering from a dose Covid 😳 - confirmed Diamond Elite until Dec 2023 with 30k extra points promo (3 x 4 nights @ 10k each). HI Sanur - lovely caring staff, ok rooms but unfortunately really terrible F&B, very small foyer and grounds ( limited scope to fix due small block), and small rooftop pool with absolutely nil, nada, zip shade... making it essentially unusable as lounging area. But good location adjacent to the old Fairmont which has been rebranded as an IC and getting much needed refurb. All good.

And very occasionally you will see cash and points prices online for better rooms. but usually not far out and at times when things are slow. During Covid we did get an all points stay at IC Hayman island for a deluxe poolside room but that was booked online less than 2 weeks out. When we got there occupancy was at 25%.

Bonus points promos are coming thick and fast again.

Maybe we’ll see the “Accelerate” promos return in the New Year?

BTW, there’s another “mystery” buy points offer. Mines 100% bonus (again) thru to 29 Dec.

Have you got the link to register for the offer? The link on the webpage was dead for me

Thanks

Are you on a VPN? If so, trying turning it off.
Not on a VPN this time, also tried unsucessfully with email rather than member number.

It does mention in the text on the right hand side that the offers may be targeted, so not much of a loss missing this one.

Email only came through to me this morning. Maybe it's being staggered.

New Ambassador user here. If I make a free weekend night booking, but decide to cancel later (before the relevant cancellation date), does the system re-credit your account with the free night certificate immediately, or is there a delay?

Since I only have 1 free weekend night certificate, will the system let me make two future dated free night weekend bookings (obviously 2nd unused booking to be cancelled in due course), or does the system "consume" the certificate after making the first booking?

In my experience, the certificate is in your account until you actually stay.

Thanks, I had a feeling that might have been the case since the T&C's make reference to you needing to have a valid certificate at the time of check out, when they adjust the bill the 2nd night

Hi, does anyone know if we can still ask for our benefits (i.e. Ambassador guaranteed upgrade on Intercontinentals, breakfast amenity for Diamond elite) when we use a Corporate Rate (i.e. Westpac credit card offer) while booking the stay? Thanks

I've always had amenities when booked direct on website with a company rate, even when using cashrewards to clickthrough.

Thanks @exceladdict. I guess it's a mixbag, I've seen some people posting about not getting benefits while booking with corporate code so I guess it comes down to the hotel. Anyway, I have messaged the hotel I'll be staying at regarding this so hopefully they come back with a positive answer!
