So I just called IHG and asked if they could extend my Ambassador complimentary weekend night and it was a resounding no.

Does anyone know as a Platinum Ambassador if I have access to the lounge and any comments on the lounge at the IC in Adelaide which is the only hotel available. If I'm allowed in does that include partner as well?

I stayed at intercontinental Adelaide last Easter. You don’t normally get club lounge
I booked a Basic club room and saw at checkin I had been given a suit I smiled and asked if they had something on a higher floor and was given the beautiful Hans Heyson suit. The old club lounge was a nice open space upstairs that I was fond of. The new club lounge is down stairs and was not doing breakfast ( you used the restaurant instead ) but a nice space and same good service None the less. Afternoon tea is lovely in the club lounge after a morning out
I manage a long weekend every year in Adelaide and always stay here
Was looking to use my Ambassador voucher here as well.

Interesting because I’ve never had an upgrade here even after I had to change rooms because of an issue with a fridge leaking

I dont know about adding it to someone else existing booking but I have made bookings on my account for other people

I'm thinking of taking advantage of the current Ambassador promotion with the 20k bonus points.
Correct me if I am wrong. $200usd for 1 year membership + 1 free night.
If I stay at 1 property for 2 nights (1 paid and 1 free night) will this be enough to get the 20k bonus points?

If it is not enough.. I also have another stay at Intercontinental DaNang coming but this is booked through AMEX travel. Will this qualify or not?

Amex FHR usually do earn points unlike most other third-party bookings. Likely but not guaranteed to trigger bonus.
Will become IHG Platinum once you acquire Ambassador

I don't have the membership yet, just making sure I can use the Complimentary award night at Regents Phu Quoc.

This means I can right - because the next page the total it gives me is Estimated Total in Selected Currency:2,074.53AUD <--- which is 2 nights charged..

That's correct. They will amend that price to 1 night after someone from their reservation desk confirm. In addition, you aren't charged till you are at the hotel. If anything just calls them 3 days prior to your arrival date and confirm again. Would also ask for complimentary upgrade when you are there

Has anyone had luck adding their rewards number to a booking made though Qantas hotels? I figure its probably not recognised as "authorised" or whatever the IHG Rewards terms stipulate.

It's a third party booking so no IHG points or benefits due. I expect you could add it by calling the hotel so they KWYA

Just noticed a message when I logged in to my IHG account. Ambassador benefits have been enhanced.
Beginning January 1, your Ambassador benefits will no longer be applicable at Regent, and the Complimentary Weekend Night will not be available for use at Regent or Kimpton hotels.

Does anyone know of a contact email for IHG Rewards? I’ve tried ringing listed numbers but receive a message that they are ‘currently not in use’. The chat is also unhelpful. Contacted the IHG property I stay at regularly in Sydney and they ‘have no idea how to contact IHG’.
